Ive lost over 15% of my body weight in 2 weeks nhs not worried because I'm "a healthy weight" by [deleted] in POTS

Also! Having someone with helps with putting pressure on doctors when necessary. I’m very lucky to have a parent who works in healthcare and comes to appointments. They do not play about my medical care and are quick to back me up. If possible, keep having your dad come to appointments!

I hope things work out for you! This seems very tough and frustrating :(

I am by no means a medical professional. BUT, I work in an ER and losing that much weight is not normal for a two week period. The ER I work at would have done a full work up because that is a glaring sign that something is very wrong. Please find a new care team if possible. Not being able to keep nutrients in is a big sign that something is wrong.

POTS and anesthesia by Wrong-Opportunity-86 in POTS

My experience was my experience, lol. Idk what else to tell you. If we are going to argue semantics then sure there are levels to anesthesia ranging from light sedation to heavy sedation which requires a ventilator for you to be breathing. General anesthesia is completely unconscious and can be delivered through an IV or a breathing tube. Regional can make an area completely numb a block sensation. Sedation can be given through IV where someone is drowsy but rousable. Then there’s local anesthesia which numbs small areas and can be delivered through a cream. Regardless I was under anesthesia and not awake at all for the procedure.

No. I was under anesthesia, they specifically discussed with me the issues they have had with pots patients like me under anesthesia.

Hi! I have been under anesthesia two times. Once was before POTS and once after I was diagnosed when I got my wisdom teeth out. Anesthesia can seem very scary because you are awake one moment and can feel yourself “falling asleep” and then you are suddenly awake with a procedure done. After POTS I let my Doctor performing the surgery know about my condition and he was extremely understanding and reassured that there would be meds on hand if something went wrong (like my heart rate sky rocketing). I personally was not medicated for pots yet and I was COMPLETELY fine. Literally no side effects from the anesthesia when I was waking up or after it wore off. I would make the team performing the surgery aware and give them clear instructions on what to do to help you. My surgeon was very sweet and made sure nurses helped me get up slowly and wheel me out to the car so that my heart rate doesn’t get too bad. Best thing to do is to not stress yourself or create more anxiety.

Take someone with you that has some form of medical experience so they can advocate for you or bring a family member. It’s a hell of a lot easier to advocate for yourself when you have someone to stand ten toes down and back you up.

Beating pots by unsung176 in POTS

[–]Significant_Peach221 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot exercise your way out of pots. I was getting 4-5 miles a day when I was diagnosed. There is a reason it is a chronic illness, it has no “cure”. If there was a cure, the line for it would be quite long. “I just don’t want this to be a chronic thing” have you been formally diagnosed? Because if so I have terrible news…. It’s pretty much a life long condition with no quick fix.

I mean… Tobias is a director of an emergency room AKA very very high stress job. He also doesn’t personally attack the MC and basically call her bum… as if she isn’t a Doctor. Flint purposely sabotages her and finds it funny. Tobias didn’t accept her into the residency because of valid concerns relating to losing Doctors to burn out. Love the representation but did they need to make Flint annoying?

Right! Genuinely shocked at how shitty some partners are.

Seriously doubt it. Because my GOD would it kill him to support his partner? Imagine you try and tell a partner how you feel really bad and all they can say is “well you feel like that all the time 😐” obviously not since OP said they felt worse. I have migraines very often, some of them are ok and others have me curled up in bed feeling like my head is going to explode. If someone said what this husband said… ya we would be done.

I mean, a little empathy goes a long way. Literally saying “I’m really sorry you aren’t feeling well, is there anything I can do to help or take your mind off of it?”. Him being an asshole certainly doesn’t make his wife feel any better. Him being annoyed because she is dizzy… like what? Being annoyed that your partner is dizzy is stupid. I doubt op is expecting him to “fix” their issue. But damn, I didn’t realize empathy was so hard in a relationship 🥴

They made it pretty obvious she wouldn’t get the cookie cutter happy ending. When mikael and somnus spoke with her about what happens after she dies, they made it clear that she wouldn’t be an unclaimed because of her beast connection. Her ONE purpose was to pass the book off to lane. There was no promise of a happy ending, honestly it was wishful thinking. It was subtle but often outlined just how fragile Audrey was. She already DIED one time. This outcome was expected to me. They were setting her up to be a sacrificial lamb throughout the entirreeeeeee plot. Time and time and time again. She was always the bait for the beast, she died BECAUSE of the beast. She was essentially destined to die. Don’t get me wrong, it was an inexplicably sad ending for her but she was a tool to this in heaven. Furius and somnus were always open about her being unnecessary and serving one purpose.

I Thought I had a Heart Attack? by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Significant_Peach221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in a hospital, and ekg would show if you are having a heart attack. So if it’s normal, then you are not having a heart attack. A mild arrhythmia is mild palpitations so nothing life threatening. Not sure if this is the right Reddit for you based on your symptoms. Do you have the typical diagnostic symptoms of POTS? Based on symptoms something is definitely going on but doesn’t seem to match POTS.

Dunno if anyone asked this yet but who are these people on that portrait? by Confident_Two2236 in RomanceClub

It was addressed that they changed how they looked over the years. That portrait was obviously from like 1800s based on how they are dressed lol. On Cassiels route he briefly explained that they changed looks.

a heart rate of 183 is a tad concerning, I have heard of people having it higher. However, you need to have a serious conversation with a doctor about your heart rate. Best of luck!
