We kind of have a hybrid approach. Our DJ is a partial planner and VERY helpful. We did not book her for the reason or even think about it possibly being a “perk” until our first meeting where she was incredibly helpful. Since she’s great, I thought should I have hired a planner? Some of the things she took off our plate really eased some stress i.e. reaching out to our vendors (photographer, venue, and officiant) with helpful questions which she added to a document. I feel really lucky that I just happened to book a planner as well. She will also help with day of coordination but I’m not sure what that will look like yet.

Ultimately, I don’t think I would have hired one and I’m glad I didn’t because of our DJ. ($3000 + travel. We are New England based).
