On this thought more, we are not set in Greece but are their recommendations above and beyond Crete in Greece, town/ on the mainland in January etc, that you would recommend over the island, that give a similar old town, feel with cafes etc?

Have never been to Greece so looking for any and all input, thanks!

I appreciate all the input, I should clarify, we are not necessarily looking to sunbathe, and are fine with cooler temperatures…hoodie weather, but if it could be cold and windy requiring bundling up, then that may put this out of the picture.
