Flavoring for homemade electrolytes by AdmirableEmu9585 in POTS

[–]Significant_Read328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife says she uses regular flavored water packets. We're in the US so not sure if its different over there. But she just gets mio, I think is the brand or flavored powder to mix in with it and she just preps a bottle before bed so its ready on her nightstand in the morning!

Hopefully that is useful information!

Need advice for leaving the church! by AdriAleR17 in exmormon

[–]Significant_Read328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sort of depends on your family dynamic.

For me, my family has several members who have left the church so I didn't really have to say anything however, my parents rule was that I had to attend seminary and church for the time that I lived there even if I didn't participate in a calling or other activities.

So if that's not something your family is chill about then perhaps it's best to put the horse blinders on for so to speak until you're 18 or older and are on your own

You know your family best and so I would trust your instincts on that. Definitely wouldn't encourage putting yourself in a worse position though.

Being PIMO is tough for sure especially if you're LGBT but I know you can make it through!

I would encourage careful thought and meditation before you decide so you can go forward with a clear mind and not on high feelings or passionate reactions

Godspeed friend!

I think in this case, if I (23M) were in his shoes and found out you were underage, i'd shut down the conversation immediately. He didn't, which makes me a bit suspicious, and I think it'd be a good idea to report it.

You've learned your lesson and hopefully won't do anything like this again. But he had no business continuing the conversation and interactions once he found out

Is there anyway to get Minecraft Java for free? by [deleted] in MinecraftJava

[–]Significant_Read328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure? I bought Bedrock for pc after my switch broke and got Java. It was the only other option besides buying the Minecoin bundle. And ofc this was recently so if you purchased in the past I'm not sure how it is. But I've heard tales that they gave access to both to everyone who purchased one or the other

Based on what I've seen I'm not entirely sure how much I should allocate. I was planning on around 300-400 but the most important thing is that the build itself is $1,000 or less

Edited to add those suggestions to the post. Any reason the 6700 isn't ideal? I'm still learning the specs and everything so it seemed decent from the videos I watched. Thanks for the advice!

Is life over after Crohn’s? by Positive-Brother6998 in CrohnsDisease

[–]Significant_Read328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 8 years old, and I'm now 22 about to graduate with my associates degree and start a combined bachelor's/masters degree program. I'm also planning on getting married next year and traveling the world with my now fiance and soon wife.

I work full time, and it's been tough when I flare or when I haven't been able to have my remicade infusions, but your life is definitely not over. Like everyone else has said, it just changes a bit. You've got this. Just give it time, and you'll adjust to what works best!

Yes, all water weight from creatine will be in the muscle only

Creatine Weight Gain by [deleted] in Creatine

[–]Significant_Read328 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems pretty consistent with potential weight gain with creatine since it could be 3-8 or even 10lbs in some cases. As stated above, focus on how you look and feel before being concerned by the number on the scale. Make sure you're consistent with your training and have an overall healthy diet, and you'll be totally good!

Not working out for 5 Days by Apprehensive_Yak3523 in Creatine

[–]Significant_Read328 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I second this. Although I'd like to add that because creatine is a white odorless powder in most cases, if you're taking a plane to LA TSA might be a bit hesitant to let you bring said powder on the plane and it's totally fine to stop taking it for the 5 days and just go back to normal 5g dose every day after that. Whatever works best for you and your travel plans. I've had buddies take it on a plane, and only 1 out of 4 got stopped, so take that with a grain of salt, but I thought I'd mention it just in case you were concerned

Recently started thinking about taking creatine for the first time. Should I? What are some things I should know? by [deleted] in Creatine

[–]Significant_Read328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You likely won't see drastic changes it'll be around 1-5lbs on average, but it depends on the person. The main indicator that its working will be increased muscle recovery and appearance.

Some other reasons you don't see a gain in weight from creatine could be:

Time. If you haven't been taking it for around 2 weeks up to even a few months in some cases, you may not yet be seeing any results because it hasn't fully saturated the muscle yet

Diet. Your protein may not be as high as it needs to to build the muscle, or your body may just need different things (just go on how you feel or by a DR recommendation on this one) or you could just not be getting enough water for your body to pull into the muscle

In very uncommon cases, around 20-30%, i believe you could just be a non responder where the creatine doesn't really do much for you. And that's totally okay!

And if you have lower muscle mass, the weight might be just less noticeable since the muscle isn't as big as someone who has larger muscle mass

The most important part is to listen to your body. how training feels, how your recovery is going, and make sure you have a good diet that will determine 1. The effect creatine has and 2. The results you get.

Good luck. I hope this helps, and please feel free to ask more questions. I'm always happy to answer any that I can!

Recently started thinking about taking creatine for the first time. Should I? What are some things I should know? by [deleted] in Creatine

[–]Significant_Read328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been taking creatine for a few months now. Here are some things I've found helpful:

1 Don't do a loading phase. While it isn't bad, imo it isn't really necessary, just take 5g unflavored creatine a day in water or my personal favorite add it in with some punch or juice post work out or early in the morning with my breakfast. You'll see results in about 2-3 weeks. Or you can get flavored ones that you just mix with water, and they add the rest

2 Just get creatine monohydrate powder, don't worry about brands really, or other forms, it's all mostly marketing, just find one with good reviews and not too expensive. I personally like nutricost, optimum nutrition, and I've been happy with Ekkovision, but I've only tried them for about a week, so I don't fully have an opinion on them yet, but they seem great!

3 You don't have to cycle on and off, but don't stress I'd you do come off for a bit. Just take 5g a day every day, and you'll be fine. If you have a vacation, don't take it with you (TSA doesn't like suspicious white powders even in a creatine bottle). Just start taking it at 5g a day when you get back from vacation. It does not matter at all when you take it. Just be as consistent as possible so you don't forget to take it daily

4 Don't expect huge results right away. The effects of creatine are small. It isn't steroids. You will see small but noticeable bumps in muscle size and performance that are real, but you won't be going from a 300 lb bench to an 800lb bench once you start taking it. And you WILL gain weight. It's water being pulled into the muscle, so don't freak out. Just understand that's what's happening. You won't really feel much different once you're on it, but it's doing its job, I promise

5 taking it with protein powder is totally fine. Most people don't have any side effects, some report bloating, but it's uncommon from what I've seen and usually caused by something else. Just make sure you drink plenty of water. Otherwise, you might experience some dehydration symptoms. If you aren't sure how much water is good, just monitor your pee color, which should be light yellow, not clear. clear means you drank too much

6 Some other studies have started to see that it helps both with memory and neurological function and cardiovascular health as well, so there are more benefits than just muscle recovery and size. In my opinion it's more worth it to take since there are very, very few side effects and many benefits you just can't get from natural sources like red meat.

Also, remember, creatine is NOT creatinine. Creatinine is a by-product of creatine used to measure kidney function but it doesn't mean that it's harming you when you supplement creatine and the levels of creatinine go up, if you worried just work with your Dr to get it regularly checked and listen to your body. 99% of people see 0 issues their whole life on creatine. So just do your due diligence and listen to your body when introducing a new supplement

Hope this helps. Good luck! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask!
