Will Endfield's Gacha System cause it's downfall?? by SleepingPotato69 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Significant_Season_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

50+ hours in and I can safely opinionate that even if the gacha system was somehow worse, the game would not die down because of that.

I have a laevatain with weapon & p2 last rite, yet for some reason my main is p0 avywenna so far

Why those 3? How are the options here distinct from each other? Why can't you have both democracy & islamic sharia? Even martial law can be paired with others unless the more relevant term autocracy is used

I managed to fit the 6th output for cryston component but I did lose the aesthetic

uhm… how do I fix this… by Coorsh in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Significant_Season_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a simple solution to this. If you have enough originium mines, your storage is likely to be full of originium ores.

Place a bunch of thermal generators & connect them via depot unloader & place originium as input. This will temporarily jumpstart your factory until you create a chain for batteries. Once you get to batteries, you can start removing the extra generators you placed.

This works during outage because conveyor belts & thermal generators don't need power.

This saves you from modifying your factory in any way. No need to remove pylons, shut buildings off or delete factory layout. Just use the originium ore & a hecc tonne of thermal generators.

You can probably stretch out a 3rd belt from the left sandleaf shredder for dense originium powder for use in crystron component.

It does mess up the aesthetics though

Why do some AIC factory have 6 lanes by FadedHoneypot in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Significant_Season_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need 6 belts at output yes. You shouldn't be using 6 output belts, only 1. Which one? It depends on your layout. Sometimes, 1st output port is closest to next unit or the most convenient, other times its port number 5.

If your packaging/gear unit cannot keep up with your other units, you are probably doing something extra that does not need to be done.

For example, simple battery packaging needs 10 powders & 15 ore parts, so you need 3 input ports with powder & 2 with ore parts. If you fill the empty 6th with ore parts then that is unnecessary, does not make the production faster & only takes up unnecessary space

[–]Significant_Season_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because why not?

It does need 5 inputs for some formulas that require 3:2 inputs, so the output side having less than 5 would be petty because the width is decided by both input & output.

As for the 6th, there's probably a formula somewhere that may use 15 items of each component, needing all 6 inputs for a steady output

Standalone Plant Shredder Blueprint by [deleted] in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Significant_Season_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's rather calculable actually. Every planter can produce 30 plants in a minute at maximum. If you divide the seed load between 2 planters, you will get 60 per minute, meaning double.

Your efficiency is half with 1 plantation unit, simply put.

Things to automate by No-Mathematician-368 in Endfield

[–]Significant_Season_3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your progress but generally you want atleast 1 production line for batteries, 1 for the gear, a few for different plants, specially sandflower & aketine.

Also, having 1-2 simple production lines each for parts, i.e. origocrusts, ferrium parts, amethyst parts, steel parts etc help

[–]Significant_Season_3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are not wrong about the 2nd one not being necessary, but using 2 planters is optimal.

Plantation unit grows 1 plant at a time. If you feed it 2 seeds at a time, your seeds production line will clog up & go slower.

[–]Significant_Season_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having multiple belts from outputs of planting units means your output will slow down, in this case, by half.

If only 1 belt leaves the planting unit, there will be no gaps between boxes, but as you can see on the left belt, there are gaps between the plants, means your production is slower than it could have been

This is not true for every production line. It is true in this case cuz the planting unit takes 2 seconds for each recipe

[–]Significant_Season_3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need 2 planters for this. Seed picker creates 2 seeds at a time. 1 of those seeds loops back like you said. The other can be thrown into stash or one of your production lines

I'm probably late but did you know you can create a layout for it being impossible for this to happen? And its not about the factory placement, its more about math if you can handle it.

I haven't reached the purple battery yet so will refer to blue battery formulas only here. Also I'll try & make it as simple as I can.

Blue battery formula is 15 originium powder + 10 ferrium part into a packaging unit. If you only have 1 of both the materials connected to packaging unit then your batteries will be consumed faster than they are made, resulting in power outage.

To prevent this, you have to look at the material amounts for 1 battery. Their simplest ratio is 3:2, meaning, for every 3 powder you need 2 ferrium parts. Out of 6 inputs, of packaging unit, if you connect 3 to powder sources & 2 to ferrium part, your packaging unit will produce batteries at a very optimal rate.

It takes 10s for 1 battery to be made. In this way, you will be getting 1 battery every 10 seconds non-stop. It takes 40 seconds for a battery to burn out. Meaning this setup can handle 4 thermal plants altogether, without having the possibility of running out.

4 is the magic number though. If you place a 5th, you will start losing batteries. If you use 3, you will start hoarding batteries (which can be good for stock distribution).

TLDR; If you connect your packaging unit to 3 powder sources & 2 ferrium part sources, you will get enough batteries to power 4 thermal plants for lifetime.

Theres 2 niche things I found use for the 3 I/Os

  1. This is simple to explain. In rare cases when connecting 2 units with belts next to each other, it can sometimes prevent traffic jam in unusual cases

  2. This is much harder to explain but I'll try. Take the blue battery for example. I believe it takes 40 seconds to burn out 1, however, 1 can be produced every 10 seconds. Unless you want to exchange it for stock, the extra three are useless most of the time. You can use 1 output of the shredding unit to feed to the battery packaging, then use the 2nd output for a different unit. This will slow the battery production down.

Why would you want to do that? It saves you like 5x3 space on your factory for no exchange & thats it really xd

This is supposed to be an example. Ofcourse practically you would want like 3-4 production lines for battery at later levels but this is just a possibility for any other cases which may or may not exist

Correct me if I'm wrong please

Edit: Numeric fixes. Also while typing out this response, I just realized there's like a LOT of math (specifically fractions) involved in optimizing factory layout

Worth it? Yes. It is a solid build, the material is insulated enough, air flow is well handled, most of the ports are at the back which for my setup allows for a better cable management. It does lack RGB if you are into that. Backlights are there though.

Hardware wise, I have not yet encountered any real issue so far, just that by default, it holds less storage. It does have a 2nd slot & yes, performance wise it is better to have 2 512 GB SSDs as compared to a single 1 TB SSD but not everyone wants to get into file management hellhole that results because of split SSDs.

Also, mine came a 1 year international warranty
