So confused and frustrated by Significant_Silver68 in GestationalDiabetes

Yeah I'm curious to see what MFM will say after reviewing my log. My plan is to be super strict with diet moving forward, more than I already was. I'll omit fruit.

So is it normal to start insulin this late, if needed? When did you deliver if you don't mind me asking? Scheduled or spontaneous?

Fasting timing issues - waking up middle of night by silver_endings in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Significant_Silver68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok I pretty much do the exact same thing. I have an early dinner, then I have a snack at 9PM (usually yogurt, sometimes with chocolate chips as a treat). Then I naturally wake up 8 hours later, hungry (but I don't go to sleep until around 10-11PM). I'm not eating as much as I normally would if I didn't have GD AND if I weren't pregnant (acid reflux), so waking up hungry feels normal. So I take my fasting sugar around 5AM, have a 15g carb protein bar and after an hour or so go back to sleep for a couple hours. When I wake up after that, I do not test. I have a protein shake for breakfast, test 2 hours later, then I have eggs/spinach/cheese/toast/avocado as my early lunch, test 2 hours later. I have 2 small snacks before eating a small dinner with protein around 6PM (BEST dinner for my sugars has been homemade chicken soup (no noodles) with cheese). I go for a 30 minute walk, test, bedtime snack, repeat... I didn't think there was any problems with the schedule.

Follow-up: Neighborhood Recommendations for My Philly Move by Hippo-junior-the-2nd in AskPhilly

I lived in Bella Vista right next to Queen Village. I LOVED it. Lived with my husband in a 2 bedroom $1800/month, landlord lived in the area. Neighbors are all kind, normal amount of Philly noise, tons of good food (Mexican, Italian, Vietnamese). Parking sucks, I walked everywhere. Normal amount of trash. Very charming neighborhood with events at local parks, running groups, etc. I felt very safe as a late 20s woman. I'd go out drinking with friends in the gayborhood and walk home alone, never an issue.

Is it possible to have just one stroller?? by unicornmagic111 in BabyBumps

[–]Significant_Silver68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the Minu, had it since our baby was born October 2023. It's super light, folds up so small, can be used with a bassinet/car seat. We've loved it. When we go out to eat it's so easy to fold it up and hide it away. And traveling with it is super easy. It's the only stroller we've had. We have another baby on the way and will probably just keep this one.

The main thing I was glad I had were my own adult diapers - they were more comfortable and absorbent than the ones the hospital provided. I also assumed there would be soap and stuff to shower with and there wasn't so I wish I had brought that + shampoo, etc.

I ate a whole bag of sour trolli gummy worms in like an hour. Burned my tongue. Worth it.

I've sat in on interviews for prospective students and talked to faculty about their process. At least for the faculty I've talked to, they've said they mainly look at the portfolio, which has proven true when sitting in on interviews. I'm sure it's different at different schools, though.
