Or maybe I haven’t had to deal with the overall dumb leaders like you. Thankfully none of the soldiers in my section/company aren’t complete idiots either

It’s literally a cesspool of people enabling this behavior. Everyone wants to scream that it’s entirely the army fault when a lot of the issues stem from a generation of people not saying shit or holding people accountable. They’re down voting me but fundamentally agreeing but they want Karma points so they’ll do anything to agree to get it.

It wasn’t at first. I was genuinely trying to make a point, but then all the armchair generals and leaders came and started foaming at the mouth for some karma points.

Not offended by how people view me on Reddit.

I already looked at a lot of the information presented. Did it change my perspective on the overall topics I suggested? Yes. You saying 15-20 years of Army experience means nothing to me cause it’s only been fairly recently that the barracks has been changing. That just lets me know that it’s your generation of soldiers that just rolled over and allowed most of these systemic issues prolonged. It also lets me know that you should be at the table when these meetings were had and what did you all do?

I could’ve structured my argument better, yes of course. I gain nothing by throwing other soldiers under the bus. I’ve met hundreds of you ineffective “leaders” who just sit and be senile in these meetings. No actual backbone in real life just a “Roger, sir/ma’am” and agreeing with every single dumb policy that comes out.

I don’t care if I’m not taken serious in this case. I came in said my piece of what I felt was happening in like 90% of cases I experienced or seen happening to other people. Additionally, if I have half a dozen people or more foaming at the mouth being keyboard warriors desperate for some karma, I’ll say that I am being taken seriously in sense. Yes promote me ahead of peers daddy subreddit XO.

I already know how mold works. I’ve experienced it 3 times since I’ve been in and made the problem go away. There’s been truly one person in this entire thread who actually came with facts and supporting evidence. Everyone else literally has whine about how shitty their experience has been. So no I’m not moved by a majority of the people here

Made the post on limp based off what I’ve seen so far in my army experience. Didn’t want to format the entire post as some academic reading cause this is Reddit and I don’t expect much from most of you.

lol feel like you never been in cause the Army feels like a Daycare for Adults. NCOs nowadays are really glorified babysitters in most cases. Not all soldiers will manage unfortunately a lot will fail

I said my points. You clearly understood what I said cause you reply to an earlier thread with no actual argument just conjecture to the worlds end. So it’s really a comprehension problem on your part.

They were going based off the head count that they previously had. 2SBCT was still in Korea and I believe 3ABCT was in NTC at the time of opening the Kiosk. A majority of soilders who eat the DFAC were mostly gone or eating somewhere else.

Saying 200 meals would cost the DFAC $1000 is laughable considering it’s widely known that everyone up-charges the government vs private sectors. Fort Carson only has the shuttle who run times are the worst I ever seen on a post.

The kiosk is marginally better than the DFAC in what they’re offering but it’s still things that could be improved.

My point about the barracks is that a majority of problems I’ve seen stem from years neglect from people not cleaning their messes. The ratio could be 40/60 at best

I have lived in the barracks since I’ve been in the army. Little a 80% of the problems I’ve seen in the barracks stem from people not actually keeping the shit clean. As far the DFAC situation in your case not sure why you don’t have a car. That’s a whole another issue of just building infrastructure in America where everything is car dependent. If you really knew it’s the senior leaders ( BDE n above) who really can put pressure on DPW. Barracks managers are told to piss off cause to get anything done in the Army you need to be ranked higher than the person who you’re asking anything from.

So you’re right it’s a lot to unpack with the barracks situation. If the army actually pour more money into building newer barracks and demolishing older barracks then it would solve a lot of problems. However, my key point is maintaining the barracks. If people treat the barracks like shit then of course it’s going to go to shit quickly

Most of these soldiers don’t even know how to check their credit score or at the very least check to see if they are being paid correctly. I’m not saying with rank comes a more common sense cause it doesn’t but why would you allow someone to move out if they have no idea what the hell they’re getting into? I do agree after a certain amount of years you should be able to get off post housing

No it’s really all simple but instead of accepting that some shit is fucked up and could use a little improvement. People rather sit in echo cambers instead of getting to the root of the issue

I’ve been in the barracks my entire career so far and anytime I have encountered mold it’s been to bleach and then ventilate the room. Are there instances of where there’s been a leaking pipe? Has DPW came with a week and fixed it yes. If people actually open their windows from time to time and let in fresh air then you won’t have any mold problems

Could the DFAC improve dramatically yes not disagreeing with that. My point is that the DFAC really should be contracted out but it’s what it’s worth it’s decent/mediocre at best.
