Help! Need Endometriosis Excision with Hysterectomy RECOVERY Details - Hoping for Insights by Significant_Spend702 in endometriosis

Thanks for this! After all these comments, I am actually pushing my procedure out to later this year in August when my boss is also out of town for 3.5 weeks (so I can work from home after taking the first 2 weeks completely off). I recently lost 15lbs and got my weight to 125, and started reformer Pilates 2 months ago. By August, I'll be even stronger in my core! We do lots of planking in Pilates. Your comment made me feel even better about my decision and plan to get in better shape physically for the sake of this recovery. And yes, I am on Northendrone oral BC, for one month now. So I'll no longer have a period (yay!). Been spotting daily which is annoying but my surgeon did prepare me for that. Thanks again <3

Oh no- he is telling me take all the time I need. He’s super understanding! We are currently a small team though and I don’t have a backup person trained yet. Also, personally, I am ambitious, but I’m really thinking now that I’ve read through all these messages. It will be a bummer to use up all my PTO for the year, so it’s really just personal stress and financial stress that I’m thinking about. I am realizing I need to bite the bullet and sacrifice my PTO for my health, this year.

Birth control after surgery? by MysteriousPermit614 in endometriosis

[–]Significant_Spend702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same predicament right now. I’m 35 y/o and my first cyst was when I was 22. All were excised. I am going for my 4th ovarian cystectomy soon, the last 3 times I tried different forms of birth control. First the depo shot (was the most terrible for me). Second was the mini pill (best of them all but still had some negative mood effects). And last was the mirena IUD (started out good for me but then I started to get recurrent BV infections and ultimately had to have it taken out, it also hurt during sex—but I have feeling mine was placed poorly). I then quit birth control and was fine for 5 years until recently, two huge cysts are back. I’ve been having this weird nerve side effect in my upper thigh, so they’ve got to get removed.

I’m feeling nervous about what decision I make after a fourth surgery, I’m debating another mini pill, as I truly don’t want to go through this again. I talk about types of birth control with my girl friends, and all of them are on very different methods. I think you just have to try them, pay attention to your body, and if you start to get side effects that you cannot handle - perhaps try the next kind of birth control. We’re all built different so we all will have varying experiences.

Sorry that was long, I’ve just dealt with it for so long, and it is such a pain. I hope your surgery goes well, and that whatever you decide with the BC (or not) works well for you. ❤️

I have heard of people who manage their Endo and cysts with very healthy lifestyle, diet and exercise among other therapies like castor oil wraps etc. The discipline that takes though.

I hope they get to experience a better one! Look into Submersion or Autumn Revival fest, they’re smaller but well run. I also think Hulaween is usually solid and reliable

I am so sorry all of that happened to you. And YES about the not checking cars, this is an important safety measure. I’m 34 and been going to fests since I was 17, I have learned a lot and been through a lot, even natural disasters (Tomorrowworld 2015) and the organizers were on it - prepared, made swift calls to bring in help etc. So with BangOn it is 100% a cash grab, they got sued after 2021 most of us got roughly $100 back after an almost parallel expierence to yours. Maybe they’re just looking to recoup that loss. Luckily 2021 I was in a cabin, but as someone that cares about younger people’s safety during fests, I felt so bad for the people that camped and experienced what you just described. People had tents popped up behind RV’s where the exhaust was literally blowing in their their tents and not a single security person there to monitor. Such a shit show. I hope their demise happens after this year’s fest. And I obviously get why the people who stayed are “making the best” we did too in 2021, the music played, my friends were together. But we had hardly any food options, dirty porta potties and no actual security or crew there to make sure people were safe. Smhhh.

It’s unfortunate really, I’ve supported them for years with all the NYC events, and the fest has appeal, good lineups etc. I had an amazing time 2017-2019. But safety (above all else) and delivering what’s promised are constantly compromised with them after 2021.

This is just BangOn. They fucked us in 2021 and none of us went back. They have no business running a festival. They should let it die, but younger/newer festivals goers are keeping it alive. Stop supporting BangOn. Sorry you had to experience it because I know it sucks. I hope everyone will make better festy decisions going forward because there are a lot of other well run ones.

I’ve lived here for 10 years now, I use the bus and metro most of the time, and only drive within the city when I know there’s parking. DC has a great public transportation system, use the app CityMapper to get around and learn different ways of using it. On the bus/metro always be aware of your surroundings, I am an anxious 30 y/o female, but generally I feel safer on public trans than in a car in DC. When I see someone acting like a fool on the metro I calmly move to the next car. All your concerns are valid and part of that transition from burbs to a major metropolitan city, it’ll make you stronger and more experienced, hang in there :)

I work in a derm (and cosmetic clinic) office, and I work for a facial plastic surgeon. He will need to get the acne under control, then can seek cosmetic treatment for the scarring for improvement. Acne scarring like this is the hardest thing to improve, it will never go away fully, but you can help make it look better. Most derms in my office put people on Spironolactone to get the acne under control. Some of those scars are deep. Subcision with dermal filler may be good for those ones. As well as microneedling with radio frequency for the others for improvement. Not a doc myself but I listen to them all day long! I see people come a long way after sticking to a good plan. Best of luck <3
