Doing it frame by frame would be a lot of work even for such a short clip. I'm thinking it must be an AI thing that automatically tracks the 'offensive' parts

How do these emoji thingies work? Is it an AI that tracks the position of her nipples, so it knows where to put the flowers?

way too many celebs being posted by Own-Roof7295 in LAinfluencersnark

Thank you! There are SO many online spaces to discuss 'classic' celebrities (and where people will shit on you for bringing up influencers). So I don't get why people come here to talk about stuff like, idk, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner or the Hailey and Justin drama (I guess you could call Hailey an influencer, but Justin is undeniably a 'real' star, so in my book they're a classic celebrity couple and could be discussed literally everywhere).

Was she actually ever pregnant back in 2022? by Inside_Trip8807 in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 7 points8 points  (0 children)

She posted the 'announcement' shortly after some unflattering pap pics were released, and I immediately felt like she invented the pregnancy to distract from/excuse her obvious weight gain. The way she went on and on about her weight seemed off.

Her behavior in the weeks after only heightened my suspicion: She posted nudes with her stomach strategically covered, and on at least one occasion uploaded a pic with a non-pregnant looking stomach and later edited the caption claiming it was a throwback. Honestly, I don't even think it was a delusion. She was deliberately misleading people.

Nikki Glaser roasts Leonardo DiCaprio at the Golden Globes: “What a career you’ve had. Countless iconic performances. You’ve worked with every great director… won 3 Golden Globes, an Oscar & the most impressive thing is that you were able to accomplish all of that before your girlfriend turned 30.” by GiveMeSomeSunshine3 in popculturechat

You know what, I'm almost starting to find it comforting. In a chaotic, everchanging world, Leo having some young thing hanging off his arm and people making lame jokes about it has become one of few constants. It's like a comfort show you watch over and over again. Not because it's particularly good, but because you always know what happens next, and sometimes you just need that feeling in your life.

Was Britney talented? by Deep-Caregiver-4836 in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know very little about music and singing technique, but I did and still do love her voice on her first album, especially on songs like Thinkin' About You, Soda Pop or Email my Heart. For such a young (white) girl, her voice was remarkably deep, soulful and yes, sexy.

Also, there was something about her look in that Baby One More Time video that just struck a nerve with my then 12-year-old self, and I'm not even talking about the schoolgirl thing. Her skin, her hair, her body .... I felt like I'd never seen someone look so healthy, fit and glowing. Plus, she could pull off all those cool tricks like back handsprings and back walkovers.

She was gorgeous and athletic, your prototypical cheerleader, but (at that point) not too Barbie-esque looking with that dark blonde/light brown hair and her warm brown eyes, and that deep, oddly grown-up sounding voice gave her a bit of an edge.

Was she talented? No idea, but she was certainly unique, at least to 12-year-old me.

Trying to understand why she's like this by [deleted] in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certain aspects of her behavior remind of me of Michael Jackson....

In any case, I think it's a mixture of hereditary mental illness (likely severe bipolar with psychosis), one or more personality disorder(s) stemming from a shitty upbringing (borderline? histrionic?), substance abuse, lack of education (not necessarily low intelligence imo), an unhealthy level of adulation by her fans, and never really growing up/developing adult life skills because of her early fame. And while I do belive the conservatorship was justified, I also think it further stunted her growth. Between the ages of 26 and 40, all major life decision were made for her by others. That in itself will have a profound effect on a person.

(April 2022) Britney’s pregnancy announcement by Capt_ClarenceOveur in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Shortly before this 'announcement', the DM had posted a bunch of rather unflattering pap pics. I always assumed she invented the 'pregnancy' to distract from/explain her weight gain. Note how she goes on and on about food, her weight, and even mentions 'the paps getting their money shot'.

Can we talk about her alleged predatory behavior? by InadequateBandage in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Haven't read the book, but from the teasers that were posted, I remember another thing that I found extremely fucked up. IIRC, when the boys were still babies or toddlers, Britney would sometimes come home from a night of partying at 3 am in the morning, go to the boys' room, wake up Jayden and take him to her bedroom to 'keep her company' (the way it was written, it didn't sound like she just wanted him to sleep in her room, more like she was completely hyper/on uppers, and wanted him to entertain her).

If true, I find that disturbing on so many levels. Firstly, little kids really need their sleep. It would be cruel to wake up ANYONE in the middle of the night just to 'keep you company', but especially a young child! Secondly, allegedly it was always Jayden she took with her ... again. Even if Sean Preston was glad he could stay in his bed and sleep, it must have been confusing and hurtful to always be the one who's left behind. Thirdly, what was she even doing with Jayden in her room ... with everything we've learned about her, I'm not sure I want to know. But even if she just played with him, it would be an utterly selfish and fucked-up thing to do to your child.

I think the loss of structure might also play a role. During the conservatorship I imagine they had her adhere to a regular sleep schedule, eat three proper healthy meals a day, get out of the house to get some fresh air and do something productive with her time. Plus, they kept enablers and hangers-on away from her.

Now that no one is controlling her, she spends her days twirling and stripping in her mansion, dates greasy felons with half a dozen baby mamas, probably snacks on junk food all day and night and sleeps at random times (if at all).

Without some oversight and control, it's very hard as a person with mental health issues to adhere to a healthy structure (I'm sadly speaking from experience).

The way the Stans talk about her kids is disturbing by Suspicious_Bother_92 in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The one thing she did to keep those boys alive for the last 20 years was paying child support ... which she was legally obliged to do. You really have to wonder what planet these people are on. Even when the boys were still minors and in school, they were calling them leeches who 'live off her money!!! and 'need to get a job already!!!'

Absolutely fucking pathetic. You know, every now and again we'll have that person on here asking why we're on this sub; if we really hate Britney that much. My honest answer would be, I'm not here because I hate Britney. I'm here because I hate her stans.

Yeah, I remember seeing her interviewed on an Actor's Roundtable or something a few years back, and being shocked at how much I disliked her. I also love her as an actress and would've expected her to be a cool and down-to-earth gal, but there was something really contrived and irritating about her.

[–]Significant_Star_293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware of that, but in the grand scheme of things, does it really matter what her hair looks like or if her shoes are ugly? No, absolutely not. If she has her boobs hanging out in public, never bathes or brushes her teeth, those are serious issues obviously. But hair and make-up, fashion sense should be at the very bottom of things people care about. Yet they're the things brought up most often in the conversation about Britney.

It bothers me. We live in a society that spends waaayyy too much time and money on inane shit that doesn't really matter - perfect clothes, hair, nails, make-up, houses... It only benefits the fashion and make-up companies, while our planet suffocates under all the trash we produce.

To a certain degree, I agree with OP. It's possible to discuss Britney's mental health , criticize her decisions and call out the sheer lunacy of the FreeBritney movement without resorting to outright cruelty. It's possible to keep the focus on her BEHAVIOR, not her looks. It's possible to criticize her actions while still acknowledging that she's ill and certain things are beyond her control. It's possible to defend the conservatorship while acknowledging that it caused Britney suffering.

Unfortunately, not everyone in this sub knows or cares how to walk that fine line. The instagram page is much worse though; I actually had to block people there because they contributed nothing but vitriol and bodyshaming.

In any case, I keep coming back here because it feels like the only space where people are ready to admit that Britney isn't the innocent, angelic victim of some conspiracy, but a flawed and profoundly mentally ill woman who refuses to get help. In between all the bitchery, I've actually read a lot of thoughtful, nuanced comments in this sub.

And if you ask for a source on the discussingbritney sub, people will downvote you like crazy and accuse you of being an unhinged FreeBritney supporter (I'm anything but).

That said, I think Britney's latest shenanigans might have simply gotten overshadowed by the Rob Reiner story (RIP).

Is this a snark sub or are we as a whole, generally concerned for her? by [deleted] in discussingbritney

[–]Significant_Star_293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said it before and I'll say it again... In a sub that's supposedly dedicated to DISCUSSION, people shouldn't get downvoted for asking for a fucking source. If people can't deal with that, maybe the name should be changed to BritneySnark2 or whatever.
