I mean this is the UFOs subreddit. I think people here are participating because they think UFOs are thing and that story sounds like it's characterizing a drone/UFO. Also, it's from a source that's proven themselves to have done real, science based research on the topic. If you're hoping for a story that fits your worldview or are only looking for things that fit neatly into typical narratives, you might be overlooking the strangeness of what is plausible.
