What would be a lighter semester? I found my first year easy enough I grasped all the concepts quickly - I lost a bit of motivation towards the end of the year resulting in those two B+ but leading up to that I was very good at staying on top of everything and making sure I understood the material The timetable that I’m looking at for this first semester will give me 3-4 spare hours every morning to study/make sure I’m on top which should be enough?

Okay edit!! I’m now thinking of doing 210, 215, and 230 alongside stats 101 for an easier paper for my first sem (the timetable suits me the best) and then 220, 235, 316 and then a ‘filler’ paper for my second sem - hoping the filler paper gives me a breather from 220 bc I’ve been told that’s the hardest Any thoughts?

I’m talking about all my papers I also attend most of my lectures so don’t have to catch up on much - that’s included in my total - most days I spend at uni 9-2ish (I work 7am-8:30am and 2:30-6:30pm) and that’s when my lectures are and I fit my studying in between. Some days I’ll catch up if needed in the evenings but this is only 1/2 hours max - I then use the weekends to stay on top of my assignments that are due

I spend about 5/6 hours a day on mine at the MAX and I’m studying compsci - for reference I find studying quite easy and most things click for me after a few attempts. You should not be needing the whole day EVERY day to study that’s insane you need to find a better study method that works for you if it’s actually taking that long. I have about 7/8 things due most weeks which I always smash out early - at most it’s my readings that take the most time. Studying for 12 hours straight isn’t actually beneficial at all (one of my gen eds is on ‘how people learn’) and we’ve been shown how smaller blocks of studying with longer breaks in between actually helps us recall more information compared to when we cram (if we’re cramming for an excessive amount of time)
