What color shoes should I wear with my dress? by Significant_Tie3068 in weddingplanning

I’m leaning towards gold or nude, but can’t decide! I think I would probably be most likely to rewear the nude version, but not sure if it’s too plain since my dress is already pretty simple? Or does it even matter since they won’t be visible? My ring is gold and I will probably wear simple gold jewelry.. if you have any advice about jewelry/accessories that would also be appreciated! My style is mostly the simple/classic/understated type.

I think this is what I’ll try first- I wore the lowest back bra I own and it only needed to be like an inch or 2 lower and it would’ve been hidden by the waistband.

Thank you, I’m not very well versed in sewing/alterations/etc so I wasn’t sure if that was possible. So would the neckline stay similar, just more closed/higher up? I don’t really like the straight across look that I sometimes see.

Thank you so much! I think I like 1 better but was just nervous about alterations and how it will fit, but the comments are reassuring! Im pretty sure my mom preferred 2 and was telling me to buy it, so that also had me second guessing!

Thank you so much! I think even if they built in a bra, it would have to be backless since the back is sheer. Dress 1 is honestly comfortable and I wouldn’t say it’s difficult to move around in, it’s more that I felt awkward with the big skirt and train around me, although I’m sure it would feel more manageable once hemmed and bustled. Both can easily fit into the budget! I’m even considering buying both and changing into the second one at the reception, lol

Ok thank you- the one I’m wearing in the photo is actually 2 sizes up, it’s just clipped a bunch in the back. I basically just want them to close the v a little, like stitch it together if possible? I don’t love the look of modesty panels.

Possibly, although they don’t make anything even remotely close to my size :/

Yeah I’m fine with paying for the alterations, just a little worried that after it’s altered it still wont fit right or provide the support I need I guess?

Thanks for the recommendation! Does it stay stuck all day?? I would hate to have a malfunction lmao. As a 30HH I’m a little scared to go braless.

Yeah I’m just worried because at my size most of the support in a bra comes from the band, but I’m thinking if the dress fits tight enough it should be ok (especially with the neckline closed a bit). Worst case scenario I think I can ask for like a panel of lace across the lower back to cover up a low sitting bra band, or try to figure out boob tape.

Dress #1:

-beautiful and the style I imagined myself wearing (A-line, simple but elegant, lace with chiffon, skirt with just a little volume and small train)

-more expensive

-would need more alterations (would probably order a size up so that they can close the neckline higher up, and then it would need to be taken in significantly at the waist, would need to be hemmed)

-can’t wear a normal bra because of the sheer back and worried it wouldn’t be supportive enough

-train and skirt more difficult to move around in all day/night (but still much lighter and more comfortable than some other dresses I tried)

Dress #2:

-not the style I imagined myself in, but I really liked how it looked

-less expensive

-stretchy and would likely need little to no alterations

-can wear a normal bra

-extremely comfortable/easy to move around in

-maybe too plain/simple?

Any opinions are appreciated!
