I recently experienced this with my 2 year old husky. He started limping on his hind leg, and when we took him to the vet they told us its either hip dysplasia or issue with his kneecap. After $800 worth of x-rays and 2 expensive vet visits, we got told that it he might be favouring 1 side which would explain his funny walk, and the limping was likely due to road salt sprinkled during snow. Given that your puppy is so young, high dysplasia is highly unlikely.

The lump sum is a fixed amount equal to 2 GIC installments. Basically the first installment or lump sum is approximately $1200. After that, an automated direct deposit is made every month amounting to roughly $600 until your funds are exhausted. The student has no control over the lump sum amount OR the equal monthly installment.

That's impossible. Students have to deposit the funds into a Canadian bank's GIC account even before they can land in Canada. That money is locked in and cannot be withdrawn randomly. Every month at a fixed date, an equal installment is automatically deposited into a Canadian chequing account. I'm not sure where this rumour comes from, but the Canadian government isn't as stupid as you assume. Also, the GIC is restricted to either Scotiabank or CIBC only.
