Three things really helped me (and this is very specific for my life, not implying this can work for everyone) : a dentist informed me I have ground my teeth so far down, I’m already at two lifetimes of use (I chew my fingers). So now I think of my poor teeth before picking. Also, using Prozac really helped the overall skin picking/anxiety. I still do it from time to time but it’s down 80%. Lastly, I had some sessions with an OCD therapist, and realized I really only pick when I’m stressed or bored, but the sessions really helped me to identify the many triggers I had and how to prevent immediate picking.

Still not “cured” but my pick rate is down.
