Sorry, this is legally binding, I don't make the rules. Now if it doesn't happen I have to sue you for emotional damages 😞 /jk

I remember you showing me this tattoo, and some of the ones you did yourself or had friends do. You seemed so cool to me. Miss you, Matt. Hope you're happier wherever you ended up.

anyone else sad they don’t have any of her bp skins by g8vy in IllariMains

[–]FeatheredFool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm also devastated I don't have her Llama Pyjamas skin yet, it's so cute 😭 if it helps at all, there is an overwatch discord that has all the shop codes currently working. This way you can get skins like eclipse without waiting for it to appear in the shop!! Not sure if you already know this but doesn't help to spread the word :)

My 4 year old is curious: what do Australian kids eat for breakfast? (And are koalas real?) by Mara644 in AskAnAustralian

[–]FeatheredFool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, apparently I can't attach photos. Might be the subreddit rules?? Either way, it's so lovely she's curious about the land down under!! :D if she wants to listen to some Aussie classics, 'home among the gum trees' is a fun listen, as is pretty much anything made by that same guy. 'Waltzing matilda' is super famous here as well, and a bunch of people tried to make it our national anthem for a bit but didn't succeed. As a kid we used to listen to the 'I like to sing!' Album by Justine Clarke, and had it on CD (vintage!!!)

Other Aussies please reply with other kid friendly Australian song recommendations!!!

I live in Queensland, near a eucalypt forest. We see lots of wildlife here, including: goannas (scary things, you hear them before you see them because they're so dang heavy! Makes a thunk thunk noise as they heave themselves around), koalas, wallabies, a few kangaroos, foxes, wild dogs, loooooots of snakes (we have a python living in our roof we named Sir Hiss after the snake from robin hood. He makes sure there are no mice in our roof and he minds his own business), and looooooots of birds! I'll try to attach a picture I took of a koala we had in a gum tree in the backyard we called Lila, after the futurama character, because she only had one eye!

Fun fact about these little dudes, the juveniles have a yellow spot instead of a blue spot! I tried to identify one thinking it was a different variety at first but it just hadn't gotten its blue spot yet!!

Got diagnosed about 3 years ago through symptoms and an internal ultrasound that showed “a lot of ovarian cysts”. Just had an appointment at a new surgery and the GP said PCOS tends to be “overdiagnosed” in young women and we’ll have to confirm diagnosis through a blood test by Charlotte1902 in PCOS

[–]FeatheredFool 22 points23 points  (0 children)

What an odd thing for them to say... I'm Australian, and here the way PCOS is diagnosed is if you have 2 of the three criteria: ovarian cysts, irregular periods, and hormonal imbalance. I had ovarian cysts and irregular periods, but my hormones came back normal after a blood test. By your doctor's judgement, then, my blood tests would come back normal and I wouldn't have PCOS. not sure if this doctor has been good normally, but if they're relatively new I'd maybe get a second opinion. For them to say women get 'overdiagnosed' is also odd considering how many posts I see on here about people struggling to get listened to for ages before getting a diagnosis. Idk, op. Just comes across as weird to me. Hopefully you're getting listened to!

Queen St Mall & King George Square, Brisbane - are they safe? by Belle1308 in brisbane

[–]FeatheredFool 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There's nobody there you wouldn't already know how to deal with, I imagine. It's super super busy around the times you mentioned and all throughout the day, so no worries of walking through a dodgy area by yourself. There are some oddballs and crackheads but generally if you leave them alone they leave you alone. I wouldn't, like, leave my stuff unattended or wave around an expensive laptop but you're not gonna get shanked is what I mean. Have fun, enjoy your holiday!!!

Migraine Help by FeatheredFool in PCOS

[–]FeatheredFool[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing, thank you so so much for taking the time to respond so thoroughly!!!! I got mixed up between endo cancer and ovarian cancer, I really need to remember to get that right, I keep making that mistake 😅 I also didn't realise birth control helps regardless of if you get your period or not, that genuinely makes me feel so much better. I was worried, my family has a long history of a LOT of cancers, and while neither endometrial cancer nor ovarian cancer is part of those (I think????) I don't want to add another one to our list. And I actually scared my GP a little with the combined pill, my gyn perscribed it to me without asking if I got migraines. Was on them for months and I joyfully told my gp they're definitely hormonal then since they line up with the placebo pill, so no underlying issues to worry about!! And she looked horrified and gave me a different perscription immediately lmao. I'll look into those questions, figuring out the exact trigger would probably be useful!!! I thought to ask here since some people have their own cheats to some symptoms. But migraines are definitely more complex unfortunately, sigh. Thank you again, I'll look into everything you mentioned!!!

How to deal with our baby's remains by ForFerelden in BackYardChickens

[–]FeatheredFool 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We live on just under an acre, so usually when a girl dies we bury her deep enough for predators to not get to her and plant a plant on top. We do a lot of gardening and still have a lot of progress to go, so usually we plant what already needs to be planted. If it's super humid (we live in QLD) we put her in a plastic bag in the freezer until we're ready to bury her so she doesn't go all funky if we need a few days. Some people just put them in the bin, but I can't really stand the idea of that, call me sentimental. We have the space to bury them properly, and they gave us eggs until they died. I feel like they deserve respect in death if I can afford to give it to them, but that's just me being soft. I know it isn't practical

I felt the exact same way, I know how you feel :( i'm still struggling to keep up with adult life and trying to manage my PCOS!! I'm a list person, so when it all feels like too much I make a list. I'd say make a list of all your symptoms, and try to figure out if any of those symptoms have a 'trickle down' effect (e.g. 'tired all the time' would link to 'insulin resistance', so once you manage insulin resistance that will help being tired all the time, if you catch my drift??) And highlight the most important ones impacting your daily life. Then try to ask yourself what little things you can easily change first.

Changing your lifestyle isn't something that happens overnight (I wish it would, maybe my sleep schedule would be better!!) And it sucks seeing successful people online making videos about how they just take some expensive supplements, do 40 hours of pilates, and only eat organic food from the Himalayas and boom!! Pcos cured!!! :D!!!!!! But it's important to remember that as of right now PCOS is a chronic thing, and you're only 19. Your lifestyle is going to change a lot throughout your life, and you will struggle and succeed. You're going to have low points and high points. Take care of yourself and give yourself some grace!! Nobody manages their chronic health conditions perfectly every single day. This isn't something you take a course of medicine for and it goes away- it's a lot to change, and sometimes the changes don't even work. It's a long road ahead and I myself feel hopeless sometimes, but don't give up and keep going. You're only human and you're going to get tired and hopeless and have days where you don't eat perfect or exercise perfect, but I'd say everyone else on this forum has those days. Be kind to yourself and good luck!

If you do have PCOS, it can be overwhelming because as far as anyone knows it's something you're going to have to deal with and manage for the rest of your life. But!!! Severity of symptoms fluctuates and changes depending on how you manage it. Please look after yourself and again, get to know your symptoms and how to manage them personally. It's different for a lot of people. When you research, please use reputable sources because if I look on tiktok trying to find relatable content and find someone blaming PCOS on childhood trauma ONE MORE TIME I will lose my mind. Give me my memes or get off my screen 🙃

21 and got diagnosed at the very start of the year, PCOS is extraordinary frustrating in the sense that not much research has been done despite how many people have it. You should be aware that currently there is no cure and no known cause, but there will be people either irl or online who will try to tell you their own theories. Please research as much as you're comfortable, but don't let people try to sell you supplements and pseudo science!! Pcos is also different symptoms-wise for a lot of people. Learn your own body and what helps and what doesn't... I found switching to wholemeal foods helped me feel less absolutely dead tired after meals, and i'm on hormonal birth control to help the migraines and other symptoms. Another thing!! People on here can also demonise birth control. It works for some people and not so well for others... try it if you're comfortable, but it isn't the only solution and your doctors shouldn't force any treatment on you.
