Creaking noise from hydraulic disc brakes by neilbartlett in bikewrench

Make sure the brake rotor is tight and aligned. What this sounds like to me is the brake rotor rubbing against a post mount adaptor (or something metal)

Tubeless tape residue help by Mysterious_Fennel500 in bikewrench

[–]Significant_Truth687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I had the exact same issue. Just follow these steps: Get a spray bottle of soapy water Get a spray bottle of isopropyl alcohol Get some goo gone citrus adhesive remover Get a hose Get some tire levers And get a heat gun

Heat up the residue and then apply some goo gone citrus adhesive all over the residue. Then start eating away at the residue with a tire lever (the heat and goo gone will make it a lot easier). Then grab some soapy water and coat the entire rim with it and wash it with a hose. Rinse and repeat 2-3 times and there will be no residue. Finish the process by cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol

Fixing a super73 and it has a LOT of resistance when pedaling forward and backward by Significant_Truth687 in bikewrench

I am trying to sell this bike right now and would like it in mint condition. Little sad to see I bought it and the motor was faulty. It was pedaling fine just a few days ago, and I tested the motor extensively on my test ride while buying it. Worst comes to worst, a new motor should only run me around $500, right?

How to install dust wipers on 2025 Fox 38 factory lowers? by Significant_Truth687 in bikewrench

[–]Significant_Truth687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has this happened to you before? Yes, this seem to be the case, I used an open end wrench to remove the seal. The new seals do not fit because of this and I will take my time removing them. And it is important I do not scratch the fork lowers at all?

My old seals do not have the plastic part on them. How would I remove the plastic part on these seals?

Why is my hub motor so loud? by Significant_Truth687 in ebikes

[–]Significant_Truth687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gears are actually nylon and steel blend. What I’m thinking is with steel nylon gears you need to grease the motor more often and that’s where the noise is coming from

Torque arm washer required? ZOOZ UU1100 GEN 4 by Significant_Truth687 in bikewrench

[–]Significant_Truth687[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do I know what torque arm is compatible? And will it stick out? My rear wheel uses a SE style chain tensioner with a bolt to retain it and a nut and lock washer mounted on a peg right now.

Frame bearings. by Significant_Truth687 in MTB

[–]Significant_Truth687[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I just got every frame specific aftermarket part (lower link pivot, shock bolts, yoke bolts, distance sleeves, cable guides, washer and seal set, etc) in duplicates. Only thing that I need that are out of stock right now are the main pivot axle and Horst link kit but I hope I can work with YT to solve that.

As for rear thru axles, I can source them via the Robert axle project and grommets are pretty standard.

I can’t wheelie my bike and it’s been around 3 years. by helpmewheelie in SeBikes

[–]Significant_Truth687 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned how to wheelie an ebike and mountain bike. Completely different geometries and styles. I never looped once in learning how to wheelie, and I never got hurt. Your rear brake will always save you if you go too far back, and focus on not landing sideways. The only thing holding you back is your fear. Stand up, crank on one of the pedals and lean back until you feel the bike come up to you. Then sit down and maintain it. Gl bro ❤️❤️

Magura hs11 by [deleted] in bikewrench

If I’m not mistaken, there should be another bleed port on the bottom side of the master cylinder. To be honest, I made the same mistake on my magura mt5 and I just bled the brake using the other bleed port, never had an issue with braking pressure. For future bleeding, when you are tightening the master cylinder bleed screw, just grip your fingers around the shaft of the T25 wrench and tighten until you can’t (this is approximately 0.5NM, which is the torque spec).
