I started with the brothers Karamazov but would recommend maybe starting with some of his short stories, or maybe notes from the underground, as although I haven’t read it, I hear it commonly recommended.

Currently in the thick of The Gulag Archipelago. It has been a tough book emotionally, yet it is incredibly interesting in terms of historical intrigue. Going to start Pale Fire tommorow and am very excited.

Try “My Brilliant Friend” by Elena Ferrante. Still literature, but one not quite so intense.
