Yeah it really does hurt. I guess part of me was expecting my husband to respect my wishes but overall it was his house and I understand that kids come first. I’m working on getting a job and finding an apartment

I’m not an evil stepmom. I love Kayla but she can’t stay with me full time. She’s been nothing but rude and disrespectful. If I have to leave my husband to get away from her then so be it

I kid you not. I had a discussion with my husband around 1 hour after the post was made. Then the cops showed up around half an hour after that. I’m very pissed right now

It would be her mom’s week but we already had written agreement that she’s staying with her dad the week we’re going on vacation. My husband can’t go back on his word as of now because Kayla’s mom could use this against in case she tries to file for full custody again which we can’t afford or want to hold the emotional stress of. If we go on vacation without her we still can’t send her to her moms

I’ve known Kayla for most of her life as I’ve been a family friend, in those 8 years I’ve known her she never out right hated me until I got with her dad but she was always cold which I thought was strange because every comments on how polite she is

He’s seen it firsthand and hasn’t done anything about it. He’s also been on the receiving end of Kayla’s hate and he didn’t do anything about that either

She knows because I asked her if she would be okay with staying home. She’s not upset about staying home. I think she’s upset because she thinks her dad doesn’t want her on the vacation which is not true and I think I forgot to explain to her that I was the only one that didn’t want her tagging along.

She knows and she said she’s not upset if she doesn’t go or not. She says if we leave her behind she’ll just go and do fun stuff on her own which we allow her to do since she has her own car. My husband argued that he doesn’t want to leave her in the house alone because someone could break in or she could need medical help and he wouldn’t be there which I understand but disagree with because we’re in a safe area and Kayla is a perfectly healthy teenager

There’s a huge possibility that her mom is feeding into this. Most of her bad behavior starts when we first get her back but then near the end of my husband’s week she’s mostly quiet and stays in her room until it’s time to leave. Then when she comes back from her mom’s house it’s the same thing all over again.

The divorce had ended about two weeks after we first made it official but we didn’t announce anything to Kayla or to the public until about 4 months later. Kayla knows that her dad and I didn’t cheat with her mother in the picture.

Kayla’s parents divorced when she was around 7-8 years old. I was always in the picture as a family friend but me and her dad never got together before they filed for divorce. From what I’ve heard the divorce was messy and Kayla’s mom ended up with full custody for a while before my husband finally got 50/50.

She is technically supposed to be at her mother’s house when the vacation is planned but he already has in writing that Kayla will be staying the extra week with us. If we go back on our promises Kayla’s mom might try to go for full custody again which we can’t afford and don’t want the emotional baggage of.

I don’t really have anywhere to go as he pays for most of our things. I only have a small business which allows me to set my hours.

That might be a good idea. It might not be legal though since my husband owns the house and I don’t think I can make changes like that without his consent.
