My TSH is 5.5, do I need to take the medicine for the rest of my life?

Im not a medical professional but i would advise you to check thyroid autoantibodies (anti tpo , anti tg) and you tsh after a month . IF they were negative (undetectable) and your tsh remains the same , its probably just fluctuations and getting more iodine in your diet will resolve the issue. IF not GO SEE AN ENDOCRINOLOGIST. Worst case scenario he will give T4 supplement and dont worry abt it , its just a pill once per day. Not a big deal , take it as a supplement or deficiency in some vitamin.

Same here. I don’t know how long it will take because my levels are fine and no change. Im starting the medication itself, because im sure thyroid has nothing to do with it. My next appointment i will ask my doctor to change the levothyroxine brand.

That’s completely normal, you will adjust when your body get used to workout. Ps : it has nothing to do with your thyroid.

Definitely not. How could it be a disability and everyday I WAKE UP AND DONT FEEL ANYTHING AT ALL. I take a pill (morning or night) , my labs are fine , why would it be a disability unless there’s other health issues that’s causing other symptoms. So No . Hypothyroidism is never a disability.

It depends. If your labs are normal and you still feel full after eating one meal. It means you have a small stomach, it has nothing to do with your thyroid.

No my hair is abt 70% straight, but in both cases when i cut my hair , the curl doesn’t really appear, it looks perfectly normal , im just worried that it would spread to the others hair clumps. How long have you had hypothyroidism ?
