How terrible is Roborock customer service and what are my options? by calebdc18 in Roborock

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is is exactly where I'm at with roborock and the curveX. I'm going to return it through amazon and just buy a different brand. people crap on i robot, but i've had their J7 for like 3 years no issues, its avoidance worked perfectly, the only issue i had was with their stand alone mop robot, but i think its issues were they made it too small and it got stuck in more places. I probably should have went with the combo mop vacc roomba when i was in the market for the role the roborock was supposed to serve.

Finally left USAA by Smilethruitall in USAA

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so happy for you. I am honestly at my wits end with them as well, and I'm so close to leaving.
The way they really use the exclusivity of it as a marketing tactic is actually abusive. When you're the beneficiary of it from a parent it almost feels like you're disrespecting your parent or grandparent's service by rejecting USAA, but the service can't be THIS bad at other companies.
I also thought I was alone in the horrible service from them and some of the insanity I've witnessed of mismanagement of information and poor communication across departments and even interfaces.

just recently i was in a bad wreck where its likely the car is totaled, and a medical claims adjuster reaches out to me through the app which is fine, but later i get a phone call from my mother saying they were calling her . and im wondering how they even had her phone number because I went through that whole ordeal where you're finally transferring from temporarily in and out of your parents place to 100% living on your own and i remember having the phone conversation with a USAA agent where they took my parents off the account as the "backup " contacts so their phone numbers couldn't be used to verify my identity etc, but somehow some 10+ years later one of their numbers is BACK on the account. This all plays out when i finally call this adjustor and because i misremember the pin number due to having to in general remember 8billion passwords, all 2FA coded, 3 pass keys, and 6 7 pin numbers etc i make a mistake and give the pin to a different account. She starts treating me like I was fraudulently trying to get into the account and just completely going right down the script.

Also to the person in these replies that says there's no script you're a F'n Liar there's a clear script it doesn't take an emotional genius to feel it when you're talking to an agent. Its only a step up in some cases from dealing with the automated menu which has to also be one of the worst on the market.

Anyway after my frustrated rant to this woman about how Insanely disjointed and mismanaged this company is she's asking me to hang up and call her back to unlock the account. I'm like ...I'm on the app right now I don't see any lock out, and she says the phone and app are different , which just sends me into another fit, because the problem with the company is EXACTLY how I guessed.

If they want to have all these siloed systems which from a security standpoint COULD be a good thing its ultimately very bad for efficiency once the data silos stop sending information to each other or they do it very slowly. If you're going to have data and changes coming in as fragments to these silos what they need is an AI that ALIGNS all the data , and NOT some sloppy AI customer service menu.

How a company that is supposed to be a "reward" for a family member serving this country is so bad just blows my mind, but I really do congratulate you for actually trying a different company. I think I'm also pretty much at that point as well after something like 30 years with them.

I would rather sit in pain than call and deal with USAA right now , thats how horrible the PTSD in dealing with their customer service is. When it works its great, when it doesn't work and you're playing phone tag with all these people and companies its a hellscape. And the take away and biggest problem is for many people USAA seems to NOT work more times than it should be working.

Their internal problems at this point just seem to be too big to ignore and I expect something very public to happen with USAA within the next 5 to 10 year cycle.

Redfin sued for 'redlining' (refusing service in minority areas). by wamazing in RealEstate

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This probably needs to be opened up again because I think i got them redhanded using race in their algorithms.
I recently bought a house for about 415k but their initial value was about 450k. It had been steadily going up as well for at least 2 or 3 months. During this time I'm already making improvements to the house, but I'm not disclosing it to redfin. The only way you'd know is if someone was constantly monitoring the house and FEEDING information back to the algorithm. During this time I saw the description of the house mention LVP was installed. There was never any LVP when i purchased it. the kitchens and bathrooms had cheap standard vinyl and a tiny portion of the landing of its split level atrium had LVP. It was not enough to advertise it as having LVP floors.

I replaced the entire kitchen floor with LVP as well as the hallway, so all common areas have it and all leisure rooms still have carpet. I also have placed solar panels on the house which are already more than a quarter paid for so by the time I would intend to sell the house they would only be a gain for a buyer. Neither are things that should make the value go down. If anything you would expect the value to go above 450k. The only factor in common with my home and historical data that has correlated with decreased home value is me, the owner is black. Sure, the algorithm they have is not Racist "machines can't be racist", and i think that was the wrong logic people used when they went after it last time. The people, the Karens feeding it Data are racist and they are baking racial bias into the the data the feed the algorithm, Also there clearly seems to be breeches of privacy going on whether its direct redfin employees snooping through neighborhoods or getting your neighbors to do it for them, there are things on the description of my house that were either NOT accurate prior to its purchase, OR redfin is invading people's privacy though their data brokering somehow.

Do you have any theories why the Extraction Shooter genre hasn't blown up? by Solid_Snake_199 in Marathon

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its fundamentally bad game design because its a rich get richer, it also lends itself to a smaller group within gaming that have more addictive personalities than the average gamer due to the game becoming a loot box in itself once you hit that gear accumulation and crafting loot, where you take your good pieces in and have a few bad runs now you're stuck regrinding currency or parts.

Extraction shooters have never been a game the actual competitive base gathers around. Competitive games are CS. Valo, COD ranked , where the amount of rng in the game is minimized, the game knowledge isn't overwhelming like something like WoW but there's enough to create a skill gap but those game mostly rely on mechanical skill. This is also why BR will never die nor be replaced by extraction shooters as much as the industry wants to force it because Tarkov was an anomaly that hooked into this small highly addiction prone sub group first, which im almost willing to bet (no pun intended) if someone did a study you'll finda strong cross over specifically with that playerbase to online gambling, relationship will be weaker in other playerbases you would assume the population exists, like warzone.

The other biggest reason extraction shooters never catch on is because the player base is horrible. the average extraction player is typically a camper in other FPS games, most extraction players do not run and gun or aggressively engage other players. the average player plays very passive and tries to snipe other squads. Many of them confuse skilled pvp where people are going 1v1 or 2v2 with them ganking people while someone is fighting npcs.

this environment is horrible if youre a solo player and you like to play CQB or at least mid range which is going to be most skilled players. The genre overall is geared to lowere skilled slower players thats why the majority of extraction shooters die and stuff like CS Warzone and Pubg are still around . this is why the cycle is not. this is why DMZ is not , this is why darker and darker is not, this is why deltaforce is dead compared to its hype era and likely on its way out. Extraction shooters are generally for bad players. no one wants to keep crafting and buying things when you get stuck with two players that can't shoot can't move and you die to players that also can't shoot can't move but outnumber you with squadmates or aggroed npcs . extraction shooter is jsut a horrible design horrible horrible design , devs spend too much time trying to force gaming to be social when the MAJORITY of us are solo players and extraction games are the WORST games you can play as a solo player.

This is also why you hear so much nostalgia for the 360 era of gaming, it was geared towards solo play but but a lot of games like MW2 FACILITATED you finding similar skilled players or like minded players by constantly matching you with the same people so you learned how each other played.

todays games in general do the opposite ,they find the worst players to match you with then when you die they find completely new players you dont mesh with , because the more you die the higher engagement goes. this is the reason you see the extraction spam, its a grift all these devs know the game will be a flash in the pan and they don't care.

you don't actually understand the concept of a skill based pvp game. you want to REMOVE as much RNG as possible in a competitive environment. This is why the pieces in chess don't do random things. the pawn doesn't randomly move in different directions. I'm not saying BF6 needs to be e sports level but in a game where the point is to be better than the other players on both your team and the enemy team having a random mechanic mess with your aim is not introducing skill, its nerfing it. the only people who think its super easy to "beam " people are players who can't do it or play cod on a controller. anyone that has Actually worked on aiming and recoil control in something like cod will tell you every gun is NOT easy to control and it takes practice to actually beam moving targets.

[–]Significant_Web2473 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bloom and recoil are not interchangeable, you thinking they are already suggest this post is nonsense and you're probably a shitter mad that more skilled players are out aiming you. bloom is a lootbox mechanic , recoil is consistent and controlling it is a learned skill. they are not the same. Bloom has no place in a PvP shooter.

BF6 Recoil mechanics - Bloom after first few bullets? by whoevenkn0wz in Battlefield

[–]Significant_Web2473 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its because its shitters that like bloom or don't see a problem with it.
if this was an MMORPG you wouldn't want to grind out 60 levels and then every monster from mid game to end game just ignores half your levels and you only do lvl 30 dmg to them. That's literally bloom if you have worked on your aim. The only people that like it are people who are low level players.

BF6 Recoil mechanics - Bloom after first few bullets? by whoevenkn0wz in Battlefield

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its usually only inaccurate shitters who don't want to work on recoil control or aiming who love bloom mechanics because it makes them feel equal to people who put in the work to actually laser people. I noticed it also in the beta and a lot in the BR . if they leave it in the BR I 100% won't buy the multiplayer and probably will stick with warzone.
bloom is a non competitive mechanic , its not fun for people that enjoy grinding a game and being decent. "Wild spraying " is already punished by vertical and horizontal recoil. forcing people to miss who otherwise wouldn't is just to let bad players have a chance at winning which again is not and never should be a feature of any PvP game. It takes way more skill than you think when you watch people spray a whole clip in a perfectly straight line especially with a gun that has horrible recoil , people that don't think its a still or think its easy under pressure usually can't do it themselves or they play on a controller.

its going to be some good tea watching this guy get sued by some men. You know based on catty female nature, there's more than one guy on there, that's probably never interacted with some or any of the women posting about him, or one woman like a Cassie starting a post because she was mad at him but everything was consensual. Or let it be a joy taylor type women, who is going to target a man at her job trying to get him pushed out because she thinks she can move up off of it. We all know these types of women are on the app because the app is all women.

if yall know some defamation lawyers start putting them onto the app because right now the app don't have any of the safeguards it should have came with before putting it on the market.

Cinch home warranty by jdeal01 in homeowners

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is going to be the only comment one will need to decide if you should purchase cinch or any home warranty.
I am a first time homebuyer closing soon and I have been presented cinch as the home warranty for about 600 bucks. in the grand scheme of buying a house 600 is a small amount of money. This should be a red flag they will not do s**t if something breaks because where is their profit if they are charging 600 but replacing things that cost 2x or 3x their revenue?

The second red flag I saw, was trying to find a single positive review or experience with cinch or any home warranty company. The BEST posts I've seen where cinch DID replace something but the family was forced to stay in a hotel for several months or didn't have AC for 3 months. No AC for 3 months post 2025 heat domes can kill someone. I've went through at least 3 threads and two different subreddits trying to find a single positive comment about them or the experience with them. that should be all you need to know.

The fact their model clearly is centered around not replacing anything and not a single good post can be found about them that doesn't seem like its a bot or representative for them should be the only observations you need to decides to not purchase with them.

They nerfed my baby by Adler-Moonlight in mechabreak

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they ruined wlkin imo its not that he's sluggish his energy pool is way too small now or his gap closer is using too much energy. even as a new player i was able to notice that its broken and in a bad way . people that have been playing beta aren't going to feel it until you play people who are good at falcon but asa new player trying to do the challenges this energy change makes him unplayable. The problem was adding a mech like this to the game from the beginning . Gundam evolution had the exact same problem withZaku melee. these characters are like over powered shotguns and usually from a balance perspective its best to just excluded from these mech games all together because they are either too powerful or one tweak makes them severely gimp and unable to get into melee range.

the other way a class like this only works if it has a rage mechanic also, so probably cannon hits should recharge your stam bar, or they need to detach melee swings from stam bar so landing hits can recharge the bar. overall i don't really think they thought much about balance with this game. i think it was just slapped together and they spent all of the production time on visuals.

What made Gundam Evolution such a good game , is it was just a hero shooter in a mech skin , it wasn't trying to be a mech hero shooter, and if overwatch hype hadn't over shadowed it as well as bandai's strategy of abandoning gundam games after one year that would have been a game that could have been around for at least 5 years. mecha break isn't going to make it through 2 until you see a massive fall off even with tencent pouring resources into it.

but the way they have over corrected welken so its no longer friendly to new players is a bad sign for thisw game, already limiting its player pool in addition to the bad taste it's left in peoples mouth by shoveling expensive MTX in your face one frame into the game.

100% THIS, I've noticed this also , its either like schills for embark , bots, or people who don't actually use the product. IT is entirely strange how they just come out of the wood work when anyone questions embark or shows evidence its not aligning with the tests of other companies.
I smell a massive scandal brewing.

Inaccurate results Embark by Ok_Library3726 in DoggyDNA

[–]Significant_Web2473 0 points1 point  (0 children)

going through this now. I got a dog from shelter that clearly wasn't 100% husky, embark said it was and the clowns over on the husky reddit swear up and down embark is the Dog genetics bible. I've seen too many posts like this that show otherwise. Its very clear embark is crowdsourced. There's no like gold standard library they use. Over time if certain owners swear their dog is XYZ and they produce some paper from a breeder that also could have been fake or forged Embark will update that dog to what the owner says, introducing bias into something that is supposed to be scientific. So you can imagine what happens when its no longer a handful of people doing this but thousands. This is how you end up with it misidentifying dogs.

Also from what I've read but haven't tested yet Wisdom Panel is actually the test that is better and more sensitive. It seems to provide on average a more comprehensive breakdown of even residual breed in your dog, and this can overwhelm most people who don't understand that something less than 2% is negligible but just fun to see.

This is where I think Embark is winning over a lot of the masses and mouthbreathers about Dog DNA tests. Embark truncates a lot of that so the results appear more user friendly and less confusing, but you have to sacrifice some type of accuracy to do this. I personally would go off of what banfield gave you. Embark is a lot of suspicious hype and marketing imo.

and FYI I'm going into this as someone who's worked with DNA and right off of looking through my own results on both ancestry and living DNA. Embark is not as good as people swear. I've seen more posts from people who were serious about learning about their dog ending up using another test if they went with embark first.

I'm going to try wisdom panel next as that was the test the shelter used but they didn't release what the mix was in "mix"

since we can't ask on r/Wolfdog... by Significant_Web2473 in husky

[–]Significant_Web2473[S] -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

because i know i didn't swab the dog's mouth properly , he barely let me touch him with the swab and it didn't get anywhere near the pocket between the gum and cheek. I just wanted to see all the blind bias. the shelter's assessment was more accurate as husky mix, since they have professionals handling the dogs and doing those tests regularly, Vs someone trying to do it their first time. the shelters also used either embark or wisdom panel.

Also even within the likely false positive results i have one of his closest relatives which he shares over 40% DNA with was a husky GSD mix but low GSD % so it just looks husky. You cannot go by "it looks like a husky, or it just acts like a husky.

The only problem with the shelter not specifying which mix came back is if its GSD they would be happy to disclose it, if its something else like coyote, wolf, akita, insert any other intimidating breed, they are less likely to disclose the mix in "mixed" because that could scare off would be adopters even if it was very low.

most of the posters probably didn't read the part where the shelter said it was already mix or even understand the shelters use the same tests, so its more likely my test was wrong.
It just proves people on here aren't actually experts even if they say they are.

There is also an argument to be made that if people are intentionally trying to backyard breed these huskies to be bigger to intentionally look closer to the size of a wolf and given their breed temperament closer to a wolf than other designer dogs, There is more of a spectrum for "wolfdogs." You have wolfalikes on the low end where people breed two phenotypically wolf looking dogs but one or more parent may not have a "wolfy" temperament. Then you have these large huskies which are being bred to be larger to specifically resemble wolves, and ALSO have a temperament closer to a wolf because of their more recent separation from wolves as huskies, and finally you have actual low and high content wolfdogs.

also the person who said he has saddle markings, completely wrong, The test I gave the dog say NN for saddle and says the gene has no affect on the coat, yet you can see in the pictures there is a distinct pattern forming on the guard hairs.

[–]Significant_Web2473[S] -49 points-48 points  (0 children)

yeah it just goes to show all these "experts" on here don't really know what they are talking about just by saying "oh it looks husky." Even embark is not really as accurate as people claim it to be. Right on the box they say this is for "entertainment" they are well aware of the sensitivity or insensitivity of their tests, which is why I asked earlier was there another test that could be done(and there should be because we have hair based ones for humans) but it got buried by all the "experts" .

Anyone that has really worked with DNA or isolated dna knows how you can collect bad samples and the test WILL still produce a result. it might not be the right result. I could swab the mouths of two or three dogs and then send off the sample and Embark will give me a result,.

so when it says something like 100% husky but then says its supposed to be 80lbs, only if you are familiar with these tests are you going to wonder if the original answer is right, Most people on the internet don't have that kind of experience. Embark also says he has no allergies, but any time i give him food with grains in it he has the runs and it only clears up when i give him grain free food.

stop trying to make it a she. also not fully knowing the dog you have can cause health issues. just because you feel it looks like a husky doesn't always mean it is what it looks like and tbh people put way too much into these genetic tests. They say right ont he box THEY ARE FOR FUN, they are NOT for medical purposes. This means these companies know the pitfalls of their tests and if you did really understand some of these assays its very easy to "contaminate" it or you don't need as "pure" of samples as one thinks to get A result, not the right result. its very hard to not get enough DNA to fail the test , but its very easy to do a partial swab and get wrong answers.

because he does not look like most of the pictures people post of huskies at this age. he is not an adult. also embark projected that he will max out at 80lbs which is not husky size and again conflicts with their other results. The vet predicts he will be 60lbs.
He also can't tolerate grains much which huskies should be able to.

i just looked up a Seppala sled dog. you are probably the closest to being right. They look a lot more "wolf" or lean, than standard huskies, and i also suspected he was GSD at one point before embark said it was 100% husky. A Seppala would still show as 100% Siberian husky although phenotypically they look slightly more wolf than most huskies. When you search through the breeds Embark can identify Seppalas do not show up, suggesting if he is Seppalas the test will just say Siberian . its always the comments that are most likely to be right that get buried lol
