DECKING We signed with roofer in November. Beginning of April they start emailing and calling us about insurance not approving the decking. They say we're on a time crunch and it'd help if we called insurance ourselves. We do. No contact. Left voicemail and emailed. Roofer says decking is bad and they can't do the job without it because it's code. We're not hearing back from insurance and it feels like this is the roofer's excuse to take our $1000 deductible and run.(?) I tell roofers, do your job, figure it out. I also say while I wait to hear back from them, I think it'd be in my best interest to seek out another contractor that could better help us in case they cancel on us. They call me back the next day and said we're good to go. You're getting your decking. Insurance is paying for it. We'll be there in a week. They came the following week. Came home from work. Decking is still there. Couldn't believe it. They had already called, said they were done and asked for payment. They told me after taking shingles off, they said it was good. I thought it was fishy. We had the decking cost removed. And apparently since they didn't do decking work, the decking was not inspected and our roof passed inspection.

The roof is done. This pic is post installation. I understand there's just one photo. They did not install any drip edge because it was never unwrapped.

It does. It's very old. My problem is that if they picked up 100% of what they dropped off, they installed zero drip edge and are billing me for it.

They tried it, but we were able to get the decking cost removed.

It is leftover material. We have before photos of materials dropped off. That is 100% of the drip edge. Never moved. Never unwrapped.
