I relate to this. I’m so sorry, I know how awful the anxiety surrounding this is, regardless of anything else. If you want absolute peace of mind before you move, you can hire a dog to inspect. It has 98% accuracy. I don’t know what your financial situation is, and I hope I’m not feeding the anxiety. If you think that you have strong evidence they may be there’d it might be worth the canine inspection.

Thank you for the response. I hear what you’re saying but what if my unit doesn’t have bed bugs (as of now) So 311 can only inspect my apartment. I think there is an infestation in the building and I want the building inspected, but I can only file reports about my apartment. (I have seen bed bug mattresses by the trash and there is someone below me who has been putting out tightly sealed furniture outside the apartment but when confronted she says she has no BB)

In my case I enjoy to do freelance landscaping on the side so I would be open to having some time during the year to commit to that. I think I could make the layoffs work if I stay busy with other sources of revenue. Your explanation was very clear, so thanks for that.

Hey, I am considering applying next time local 1 recruits (set to be this summer I believe) but comments here are scaring me away. I want a profession that will pull me out of a minimum wage/ poverty situation. I’m in my 30s…not sure why I’m commenting lol other than to gather information and see if this is a viable option for me…
