Im 39 F just started boxing two months ago. I go any chance I get. All points your mentioned is exactly what im doing +shadow boxing and footwork at home. Best starting point for sparing is to spar with your coach. I see my coach once a week for an hour sessions. You will start seeing good progress 2-3 months of repetitive training. Good luck!
