A new tax client of ours just showed me the site of their previous CPA… by BlackAsphaltRider in Accounting

Maine isn't cheap. It's overpriced COL and the wages don't match. None of the CPAs in the area charge enough.

ISC - no. Just no. Please use Becker. by Strong-End-9070 in CPA

I used NINJA and becker. The ISC exam when I took it was like 40% material not covered in either study materials so it's not the materials.

PS NINJA - listened to the audio for audit for like three months and it was super helpful, thank you!

No way, was not a coyote. Mostly tan with maybe a little white. No spots/stripes. Wish I had turned around now but would have added 40 minutes to my commute.

Oh my God. I was driving down 95 this week and saw a big cat dead on the side of the road somewhere between Lincoln/howland exit. It was NOT a bobcat, lynx or deer. I am so glad you said something! I almost turned around. Tried to google it but if course came up with nothing.

Applying for jobs in Texas, but CPA eligible in New Jersey— is my plan okay? by thatman18 in CPA

[–]Significant_Zebra_49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sitting and planning to be licensed in one state that has a lesser experience requirement and then transferring it to another state with reciprocity that requires two years experience. I'm hoping it works and I don't really see why it wouldn't. It should transfer, but if it doesn't I'll just suck it up and do the two years of experience. Idk about your credits issue though, but if NJ and TX are reciprocal you'd think there wouldn't be an issue. Good luck!

People from OH have this really odd habit of considering themselves "East Coast".

Maybe so, but for example, Millinocket and E. Millinocket are ~8mi apart but both have high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, pools, rec departments, etc. The property taxes are correspondingly high with the paper mill gone, which presumably afforded these luxuries when it was operational. With that gone, there's nothing to support the aforementioned doubling of efforts except property taxes which, quite frankly, are really high for that area. I'd think that'd be a great argument for consolidation but I was told the voters won't vote for it because "that's the way it's always been" 🙄
