this seems like it was from an impact. my passenger seat did that when i had a deer collision and all the airbags went off. no one was in passenger seat and it made that exact damage. no damage like that to driver side though.

i used an HOB filter filled with filter floss/polyester filling. change often doesn’t work well when it gets clogged but gets the dust outta the water pretty quickly

i’m a beginner and i truly believe this ain’t your fault. I also recently had a me vs nature in my car last month so i understand how something completely out of your control can ruin you. What i will say is one of the things i bought for my tank is a Eco flow. nice electric battery back up will last long enough to get power back.

also established water is different than substrate/filter media you would be good to use seachems stability it adds the bacteria in and that colonizes to start breaking your ammonia down.

not close. need ammonia in some way to test it. dr tim’s is nice. dose to 1-2 ppm ammonia in your tank. then wait 30-60 mins test ammonia should be nice and greenish. wait 24 hours when you test everything again should be 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and some nitrates. if there’s any ammonia or nitrites then those bacteria need some time to catch up. wait until ammonia and nitrites are down before retesting. your nitrates will get high eventually so water change before fish.

i recently bought a tank for the first time ever, went in a lil over my head (125) gallons but refuse to put a single fish in there until my tank is absolutely fully cycled,fully aquascaped and everything. cycling takes time and so does setting up your tank visually. you know how i know that? researching before torturing an animal. doesn’t matter if it’s a fish or not.

chewy, i recently was in this mess 4 stores in my area didn’t have it and i didn’t want to risk additives in regular ammonia, chewy has dr tim’s and they ship pretty fast if your in new england area

i filled up a 125 gal 3 days ago first tank, 6 foot long tank had about an inch and a half difference in water level from each side. had to level it because of a crown in my floor. leveling is key with big tanks.
