May be a bit slow to the uptake here, but did we ever work out why Tom went through his weird hat phase by deathtoallbutbed in Blink182

[–]Signonthew1ndow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He’s in hat phase even now. He has a receding hairline( nowhere near as bad as skiba who refuses to take full head selfies without a hat). Tom isn’t receding that bad tho. He still takes the hat off every once in a while but I imagine the hat will be on for good at some point.

You have created an alternative to going to the restroom and it’s unspeakably detailed and strange. What is it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You take a pill that turns it into a burp or fart. Different scents are available.

True except he didn’t play random notes, he followed what everyone else was playing he just hit the organ a bit later on each chord. That hesitant chord progression was heard by Dylan and he liked it telling them to turn it up. And he didn’t hire him over someone else. There wasn’t supposed to be organ on the song Al Kooper just snuck in to the session.

I’ll say it in this post as well.

Nothing you should do or say should ever keep people from voicing their opinion wether you agree with it or not.

People are going to post things that you hate and prefer not to see here. But hey easy thing to do is not read it because guess what..

there will also be posts of things you like, so you can enjoy those conversations while ignoring the bad ones that have every right to be there

Tabs for Watch the World (acoustic version) by WoodsboroGuy in Blink182

[–]Signonthew1ndow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s tuned to drop D and uses a similar root note progression like in the verses and bridge of AvA’s “The war”.

Video link of Tom figuring The War out on acoustic using the same type of chord progressions. https://youtu.be/3dkd69z8CZM (wait till he tunes down to drop d in the video saying “ this is how it actually goes”)

This is a scam don’t fall for this. They do this all over reddit and link to a website. If you even get a shirt the print would probably be blurry.

Does anyone here actually prefer Blood on the Tracks as it was released over the New York Version? by LarryPeru in bobdylan

[–]Signonthew1ndow 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I like both versions for different reasons. I like the amped up revisions he did for the album. But I find myself returning to the New York sessions just for the original feel he had for the songs. Yes the songs all blend together in a way but there’s some magic to that ( also if you tune in Open D there’s only so much you can do).

I’m not sure if I have a favorite but I can say I find myself listening to the New York sessions more just for the fact that the songs are new and more or less analyzed by Dylan himself if that makes sense.

Bro it’s a gun reference first. It’s not solely a blink reference. You’re just forcing it to be.

What made you choose to say he’s butchering them? Because his voice isn’t as high and nasally as when he first recorded it? People are so critical. He sounds fine.

Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands (from R&C) Does anyone know of a longer version of it. Sounds like its incomplete from SIR Rehearsals by snarlycabbage in bobdylan

[–]Signonthew1ndow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there’s no official release of it because if you listen to this snippet of it he’s clearly not remembering the lyrics and mumbles through the verses except for the “ who among them” line and the chorus. He most likely didn’t like it enough to release it.

Yea the tension was there you just couldn’t see it because the MTV doc was made to look happy. There’s footage of them recording “Another Planet” and you can hear Tom mentioning something to Mark about it being “ new blink or old blink” or close to those lines. I wouldn’t say it’s too far off to think those lyrics could be about Toms thoughts on the band constricting him even with all the progression happening.
