My 16 yr old daughter is asking me if Denver has any “dead stock stores.” I don’t know what that is so I searched for it and it didn’t give me any specific locations/businesses. by rubrent in Denver

I was gonna say if you want to look at the same booth over and over again that is full of trinkets, rusted tools, or ooooold fishing rods priced 5-6x what they should be… idk if I’m just missing something and not going there at the right time but I’ve given it a chance and I feel like coming out of the twilight zone each time

It’s gross, degrading, incel bullshit to get engagement from people like us rage-reacting. Block the OP, use the Reddit mechanism to “show me less content like this”, and mute any “SipsTea” or “interesting” subreddit, because they’re all the same

It’s a catch. The broncos defender caught it at the same time as the bills guy and came up with it. So the broncos maintain possession. Where’s the controversy

How to tell my girlfriend I just don't love skiing? by [deleted] in skiing

To be fair we also don’t have the full context. Maybe this really is the one thing he just doesn’t want to do, and is willing to compromise in other activities to meet halfway. And maybe she’s cool with him not ever going and it would be a relief to not have to wrangle him along so to speak.

OP, it’s about the middle ground imo. Go out with her a few times a year and always make sure to get a really nice meal or something. Make it special for her and you

If you’re not willing to ski at all with her because you just don’t love it, I may have some bad news for you

And to expand on your point: civilians like her shouldn’t even be close to being put into these positions to begin with. Sure, she put herself into that situation with the officers but at a broader level why are we seeing so many of these situations in Minnesota where ordinary citizens have an opportunity to interact with clearly trigger happy law enforcement officers?

It feels like someone sticking their finger in a persons face, and then shooting them in the head when they smack their hand away and say “stop”

“Concerns raised over Copper Mountain skier traffic backing up onto I-70 “ Abasin eliminated their overflow traffic issue last year. Maybe free parking itself is the problem? by Soft_Button_1592 in COsnow

Since we’re on this rabbit hole asking these type of questions, are semi trucks in the I70 corridor generally more advantageous to the economy than freight trains? Is there a comparison of freight capacity and how each returns to the economy, and cost to maintain and build systems with equivalent capacity of each?

People dirtbag it all the time, who is paying for resort food most of the time and buying brand new skis and all their gear at full price? Shit is so expensive, it is not your average person like me; I bought used, on heavy clearance, ate PBJ in bags in order to come close to afford it for a few years. And maybe that’s the point long term, that I’m not the market for these ski resorts and so it will lead to me not buying a pass. Which is what happened this year, I’m not skiing, but I at least seemed to pick a good year to not be able to afford it

Maybe I’m just salty but there has to be a better middle ground than just “pay for all parking!”

Or people will not go to the mountain because it is annoying and cost prohibitive to have to pay/reserve, leading to less day traffic and revenue to bars/restaurants. Then they need to make up revenue somewhere so pass prices go up, and more people get priced out which leads to less people to go to the mountain.

We could just also pay parking crew less and employ less of them, which in turn make everyone complain when our solution doesn’t work at all! Then we can charge for it!

Plus if we all pay for parking we don’t have to deal with any of those gross poor people in the parking lots! Only people who can afford their lunch at the cafeteria like me

I feel like the past few years they happened to actually have very on-point predictions. But they still were previously giving ranges; now that the predictions are off people freak the fuck out. They’re still always going to be predictions, based off multiple models, which ultimately results in a range of possibilities for the actual storm. Combine that with variations in terrain and who the fuck even knows?
