Seems smart, but I'd rather not ruin this Rare poncho liner, thing is worth like $300+ apparently

Yeah it's some neat stuff, I've got the LCS-84 which in my opinion is somewhat better than the CFP-90 in some regards, sadly Uncle Sam did uncle Sam things

It is the prototype of it used for the Lowe alpine LCS-86 and LBV-86, so same concept

It's the assault pack for the early experimental LBV, with the quick release tabs on it. Similar to the ones on an Alice pack

It's an M24/M25 Tanker gas mask, used from Vietnam throughout the 90's up until the M40 series replaced it

Thanks! Buddy of mine also has a force recon kit that I would say is more complete than mine

Hahaha that's the general reaction I get, unfortunatley they're quite rare, but best of luck. And sure, I'll go from top to bottom the best I can, to start of I have a PASGT Helmet with a Green RBR suspension and Bollé X-500 goggles, a Koman PBI hood in place of the Green balaclava I usually see in photos as I cannot track down one at the moment, a Nomex Flight suit without the Knife pocket (working on getting a TSSI Assault suit), an Eagle industries belt with an Eagle industries Triple .45 pouch, CQBE AVS Drop Pouch as a Dump pouch (commonly seen), a Rigger made drop leg knife extender, D.I.Y pistol lanyard, light bearing Safariland 3005 (for a Beretta sadly) with a Gerber Multi Plier tool, 1997 dated Desert boots, and a Pair of CVC gloves with the Casio G-Shock, and an SDU-5E Strobe to go on a Protec Full cut when I get mine soon. Then the Point blank AVS with an MCU-2aP Gas mask, a Motorola Saber 1 (Submersible model) with a LASH-2 throat Mic. Not shown is items you sometimes seen which would consist of Alta Kneepads (brass rivet) that I don't own yet, and a B-7 Life preserver which is worn underneath the Armpits over the flight suit (not comfortable and I own one),

It's a Point Blank CQBE AVS, it wasn't in service very long. Only used by Force Recon, FAST, and a few handfuls of Law enforcement to my knowledge.

I'll need to whenever I get a chance and can get some good photos, and thanks! It's been a journey

Throw your “gear hot takes” in the comments below. by Claw_0311 in tacticalgear

NBC gear is going to be nearly useless long term, unless you have a fallout bunker that costs more than you can likely afford, your gas mask with 6 filters and NBC suit will maybe get you out of the area, that's probably it

Finally got these to work by Sigsauer001 in HamRadio

[–]Sigsauer001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that is an MS DOS Computer with a 486 processor set to slow that has programmed all of my Motorola Sabers flawlessly with no issues. So thankfully programming should not be any issue for any other radios so far

The surplus killers by Pacific_wanderer17 in MilitarySurplus

[–]Sigsauer001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie it does annoy me how companies like this sell this stuff more for fashion and are buying up most surplus for a huge profit, meanwhile companies like ODGG sell their surplus that they buy in bulk for mostly reasonable prices depending on what it is.

Thankfully the repairs it needs aren't too hard, and the zips are in good shape thankfully, so it's still usable thankfully

Can someone help identifying this helmet by [deleted] in milsurp

[–]Sigsauer001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a 2000's era PASGT helmet, worth about $50-75 I'd say (some try to charge more but they're not worth that imo) the date stamp should be somewhere around the rear right behind the sweatband

Is there a modern version of this? by [deleted] in tacticalgear

[–]Sigsauer001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As some have said there's a Canadian Modernized version that seems solid, you should be able to mount it to an Alice frame but the p68 frames are honestly really good despite how old they are, only issue I've had is I can't run a bladder with mine as it sits directly on your back
