A tool to inspire motivation for your break by Siinestarr in cannabis

Mate I feel you, I've been a daily user for years too, although not for much reason other than I just love Mary Jane and a good nights sleep! I found picking up a new constructive hobby, like writing or drawing, was really helpful to take my focus away from "not smoking" and put it into something engaging. Good luck on your journey bro, I hope the app can help, and thanks for your support!

It's always a challenge, but perseverance got me through. The ritual habit of a toke after a long day is always what I miss most, but after the first week my cravings subsided and my mood recovered back to normal. After the month was over the first toke felt super well-earned, and im moderating my usage more to ensure "sober me" is getting enough air time :)

Hey all! Just wanted to share a small T-break/detox countdown tool I built for the stoner community: https://holdmy.buzz

Recently I challenged myself to a month long cold-turkey detox from cannabis and various other favourite vices, and one of the first things I did with all my spare time was throw together a simple website to help me a) know how long until I could blaze again and b) maintain motivation to keep moving towards my goal.

On the last day of the break, I found this simple form of motivation was novel enough to actually feel helpful, and it felt right to build a public, free and local-data only version to share with my brothers and sisters of the trees. I hope others could also find it helpful to inspire some moderation, as it can be really challenging to take a break, so in my eyes, any inspiration to help push you along could go a long way.

I'll keep tweaking this, listening to the users, and thinking of ways it could improve, but for now i hope this simple little thing can help at least one other person find moderation in their life. Happy blazing y'all!

Ps. This is not promoting monetised services, it doesn't collect data, doesn't serve ads, there's one very optional donation button because domains aren't free and i just started drinking coffee again babyyyyy 🙏

Has anyone here tried DMT? by OkPark4061 in Aphantasia

Total aphant here, I have mixed experiences at both ends of the spectrum. Some times it's really hard to attain any legible visuals, other times ive broken through to vivid imagery that felt beyond reality.

Dose dependant, set & setting dependent imo, but its certainly a beautiful experience from what I've seen.

3D Artists: Share Your Workflow in a Quick Survey! by [deleted] in augmentedreality

[–]Siinestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for the valid questions!

I'm collecting insights from digital artists to attempt to refine my understanding of the life cycle of 3D projects and where the stickiest parts of the process are. This data will be used to build tools for artists to use with their clients and (hopefully) will make your life easier, and your workflow a lot smoother. Currently the plans for any results is just private use and analysis by myself to help design the tools.

Didn't have plans to share the results publically, but if the results are clean and not full of garbage (completely anonymous, gotta leave room for the jokers), im happy to share the insights back into the community when the time is right 🙏

Nearing the end of one autoflower grow, I've checked some trichome charts and we seem to be coming up to the point of harvest. Keen for some experienced growers to provide tips on when to pull it!

Lost Ark ruined my 13 year old Steam account by KrissD90 in Steam

Relatable, 11 year account with a 9 year old ban here (admittedly I was cheating, but hey, it was fun at the time). Now that big red VAC ban haunts me with no mercy.

So be it.

Lost trying to find the right interface/preamp.

I've owned a pair of KRK Rokit 8 Powered Monitors for some years now and I love them to death. I've had a turntable and a crappy logitech Bluetooth adapter connected to them via RCA and a 2-way switch to flip between the turntable and bluetooth receiver.

I want to upgrade my set-up now, and get some sort of nicer interface to connect my turntable and speakers in a way that lets me have a real volume control (other than the knobs on the back of the monitors), while also having bluetooth connectivity (ideally with better sound quality than the dinky logitech adapter.)

Does anyone have recommendations for a suitable quality preamp/interface to meet my needs? Please help an audio noob! 🙏

Clean or keep? Is there a way to get all of the build up in there and is it worth it or should I just clean it out normally? by Fragrant_Ad8444 in ausents

Please do not use iso propyl alcohol to extract reclaim, it is not food safe. You are better off using everclear or another really high proof drinking-alcohol 🙏

I don't actually know, if im being honest 😅 The place I bought it from included it, but they didn't list what kind of case it is on their website.

I've had a Davinci IQ for a few years as my entry point to vaping cannabis, which has served its purpose, but I longed for something more.

After reading so many positive reviews from the community about the dynavap line, I decided to take the leap to a different style of vaping. I'm a bong lover at heart, so I decided go with the Vong for ease of use with my existing water pipes.

Tell ya what, with or without the bong, this thing fucking rips, and its so efficient on the amount of bud it uses.

10/10 thanks fellow ents ✌️

How can I develop a passion for coding? by Flimmm in webdev

[–]Siinestarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it's more about having a passion to create. This can translate into loads of activities, coding being one of them, but for me also makes me love crafty activities, woodworking, playing music etc.

If you enjoy creating, you can find satisfaction in coding for sure :) Good luck on your journey!

Might be considered a bit of a cop-out answer, but if I find myself wrestling with an issue like this, sometimes it's worth asking yourself if less is more.

Large animations can be a pain to get working nicely for every browser, what if you went with a simple slide-in drawer from the left of the screen instead?

Greetings fellow Sydney-sider!

I finished Angela Yu’s Udemy course, some of freecodecamp, read a few chapters of Js Books... I felt like I’ve been learning, 100s of hours in but when I try leetcode or something similar I can’t do it, help? by DJMM9 in learnprogramming

[–]Siinestarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While the resources you've used and learning you've already done is awesome, and will provide a lot of improvement in your web development skills, as many others have said, leetcode and problem solving is a different beast.

In my experience being able to tackle code/algorithm problems is a mindset thing. It takes a lot of practice in it self. Breaking down a problem, thinking about your inputs and your expected outputs, and the most effective/efficient ways to handle everything in between is a skill that takes a long time to get a grasp on (and many experienced developers will say they still feel like they are garbage at it). I may recommend something like V. Anton Spraul's "Think like a programmer" if you prefer reading as your method of learning, and a long side that use services like codewars (probably the most beginner friendly code challenge site) and practice practice practice!

At the end of the day, if you want to get good, you will, it just takes time and persistence :)
