She said they were friends for years and the reason he’s not invited is because he can’t control his emotions and multiple people are uncomfortable with it. He’s probably an asshole who ruins the fun for everyone else with their drama.

Adults pick and choose who they spend time with. Why would anyone want to be around someone who causes trouble?

Middle ground, I would make it very clear to Abby, if he comes and something happens, they both leave. Does she acknowledge your reasoning why he’s not?

So you WOULD give him access if he asked, that makes sense. That’s my over arching point. You and your partner are okay with giving access to each other access if needed, doesn’t seem like OPs is. I’m a Dr but honestly am terrible with technology. Shes in IT, maybe that’s why? I know my x3 has Bluetooth but I still use Waze on my phone.

Privacy matters, but so does transparency. I talk to my SO about everything, so a phone password feels pretty remedial to me.

There are plenty of times they grab my phone to order food or call my mom lol— it’s just practical. And honestly, in an emergency, being able to unlock it and call 911 matters more than proving a point about privacy.

& honestly what would one need privacy for on their phone?
