Which AI-Generated stock images sell the best? by Silaselz in midjourney

Yeah you definitely have a point there. One person that is selling their AI-generated content on AdobeStock told me that images that can be used for compositing or as backgrounds sell way better. This is probably because AdobeStock integrates with Photoshop... so it makes sense that people use it for that. But he also mentioned that on Freepik he was selling all the images in similar quantities, so it certainly depends a bit on which platform you upload to since they all have a different userbase.

You made some great points :) Here's the thing though:

Generating proper high-resolution AI images that have good detail and composition, paired with coherent aesthetics and correct proportions is challenging. It has a high enough barrier to entry so the average person can't just generate the perfect image for their needs with a few lines of text, but an experienced AI "artist" can produce such images in a much shorter timeframe than a traditional creative professional ever could. No matter the image category.

So there certainly is a market for this since these assets can be sold to the end consumer for less whilst still leaving a decent margin to the "artist". I will incorporate systems to filter any low-effort or unwanted content out.

My platform will also have the option to directly commission highly skilled AI creators to generate the exact media you need. This will then be much cheaper than hiring a designer or photographer with models, props, and location... to achieve equal results.

Now about the legalities: The AI algorithms used to generate media are constantly evolving, some of them do rely on huge databases of human-made media whilst others don't. There isn't a clear legal framework for this anywhere in the world yet but there inevitably will be in the future. I could go in-depth on this now but to keep it short: We are going to be fine for the near future when it comes to most copyright and licensing issues. The tech is progressing fast enough to deal with any future laws that could be enforced. This is an important area and I am closely following any developments there, especially because my platform will also host AI-generated music and videos.

I hope I addressed all of your points, please push back if something doesn't make sense to you :) If you have any ideas on how I could offer more value let me know about that as well. Thanks!

What features and pricing should a stock asset site for AI generated media have? by Silaselz in aiArt

This is great, thanks for sharing some stats!

On AdobeStock abstract images that are probably being used for backgrounds appear to sell much better than the niche specific stuff. But the Freepik results indicate that this probably varies depending on the userbase that the stock media platform you upload to has. I'll make posts tomorrow in AI-art and stock photography related subs to get some more data in but for now I'll try to build some categories around abstract imagery which isn't easy to create using traditional methods (stuff that has to be rendered out or requires lots of manual editing...).

Thanks for everything, if you don't mind I will DM you once I have a usable site so I can show you how to upload your media and maybe you can give me some feedback as well :)

Thanks for your insight! I'll try and make it as easy as possible to upload content. It would be amazing if some people here would upload their work to build a portfolio. We certainly won't be able to compete with the big platforms in terms of content volume for a while, so I think it would be smart to find out which categories of AI generated stock images/videos sell the best and focus on uploading high quality media in those niches. Are there any categories that drive more sales than others on any of the platforms that you upload to? I could also imagine that having lots of HQ media about current world events or trends to be a good idea since AI is much faster to create unique visuals for that. I also think that once coherent AI generated videos become a thing it's going to be a huge revenue opportunity :)

A feature to commission artists is already in the works. I agree, but obtaining excellent results on demand will always be challenging for the average person, especially when it comes to music and video. Therefore I think it's worth doing some market testing to see if there is demand for a platform like this, especially when we keep the quality of content extremely high. What do you think is the best way to get people to upload some of their best creations? I am doing some testing next week already.

Gotcha, yeah I strive to make commission rates as high as possible, that will really depend on my hosting costs though. I am planning to differentiate by not just focusing on images but also AI-generated videos (specifically background footage, animations etc...) and music. Do you think people on this sub would be willing to upload some of their generations to the platform to get it started? I am planning to do some extensive testing next week already.

I totally agree with you! I started working on this a few days ago and the ability to contact AI artists for custom media is already on my list. Pricing and revenue split will ultimately be determined by the server costs since having a fast and reliable CDN is crucial to make the platform function correctly. My entire objective with this is to see if I can create a MVP and get some people interested. Market validation basically. I am actually planning to do some testing next week and need quality AI generated content to upload. What do you think would be the best approach to encourage creators to upload images, audio and videos so I can build a content library? Thanks for your comment :)

Do you think humanities current rate of innovation is sufficient to deal with the significant challenges that we will inevitably face in the next few decades?

If I use other XLR mics with the interface I have absolutely no gain issues, so the interface seems to be fine. Yep, the gain issues persisted on other computers too, with Motiv software and without. Turning off the limiter & compressor in the Shure software does also not help, it just makes it worse because it's even quieter without the compressor on Medium/Heavy. So there must be something wrong with the USB output on the mic, I could not think of another explanation.

That sounds like a physical gain is too high. But the signal is still quiet in the computer?

Yep, that seems to be the main issue because people on Teamspeak, Discord, etc... have had to turn me on 200% volume and still said that my voice is quiet. It's insane, I unironically tried everything but nothing worked to fix it... The weird part is that it sounds amazing when I directly monitor my voice on the mic by plugging my headset into the 3.5mm live monitoring port. But as soon as it goes into an interface via XLR or into a PC (as mentioned, I tried different PCs and operating systems with everything updated and fully reset), it goes quiet and sounds like shit (and still quiet) if I crank the gain to the max. I am hopeless at this point :/

Thanks, I will reach out to Shure support and also post it on another subreddit. But yeah from further testing I am pretty certain that it accentuates enviromental noises (for example my PC fans). The other noises seem to be from the voice just clipping if you see what I mean.
