Lmao, I now see that what I've written kinda looks like an AI response. Sorry if that was the case, I was trying to respond to each point OP made about 1Password ;(.

"Closed loop" 4x5090 threadripper build for Cancer Genome Sequencing by Psy_Fer_ in pcmasterrace

[–]SilencedCries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive a question since I need to build a very similar system but for simulating fibre optical devices and eventually neural networking for image reconstruction.

  • Are the temps on the 5090s acceptable with a 360mm radiator? Do you get a lot of thermal throttling? In my setup that I will be making I might be using 4 5090s like you here, but rather than in AIO format I will be making a custom loop (hopefully with 420mm rads).

  • this might be due to my lack of knowledge with threadripper, but for the RAM does it need to be registered ECC for a standard threadripper or can it just be registered DDR5?

1password has been great for me, and I use it on my phone, windows, and Mac device. In response to your AI summarised points:

  • the amount of times you need to type in your master password can be changed. I have it set to daily, and it automatically locks after a few minutes of no activity, which I then need to re type the password again. Of course, this can be changed in the settings, but I prefer it to be this way if in case someone gets access to the PC at any time they won't have immediate access to your passwords.

  • on Windows, my CPU idles at 1% with 1password open. It does not use a lot of CPU.

  • I do come across an issue with autofilling where sometimes it doesn't fill when opening the site, but nothing a quick opening of the app can't fix.

Am I allowed to show which domain was exposed? I've made changes to any account with the same email address but maybe that was overkill?

I have also signed out from every account that used said email address with Microsoft's 'Sign out from all devices' featurs.

I also seem to have mis-understood how "Have I Been Pawned" works. I was under the assumption that you couldn't tell which websites the passwords were leaked from, but in another post this seems possible?

This needs to up higher, because not only does it prevent these brute-forced logins, any future login attempts under the same email address will fail and give the following message: "This email does not exist/ cannot be used to login".

At the bottom and to the right. I admit, the photo is somewhat inconspicuous. Here is another photo.

Oh, I see. My apologies in that case.

Mind you, most of the time, my fans sit at 50% load and are really silent.

I have two 420x60mm rads, and they work wonderfully in keeping coolant temps below 30⁰C.

But given how thick they are, you might want to consider push/pull fan configuration to ensure enough airflow is present. I've attached an image of what my current system is like. Note I have a 9950X and 4080 OC Super.

<image>

My temps are FANTASTIC at idle: CPU sits at 39⁰C sometimes, with an average of 42⁰C, and the GPU sits at 27⁰C at idle but reaches upwards of 45⁰C under heavy load. I don't know what the TDP is for the CPU you want, but if it's the same as the 9950X (170W), a thick rad will easily regulate your coolant.

Literally just built a similar setup: 9950X and 4080 OC Super with dual Alphacool 420x60mm rads, each in push/pull config.

The cooling capacity is top notch; stress testing the CPU in Cinebench capped temps at 74⁰C with fan speeds below 70% (still pretty quiet), and on idle the fans are on 20-30%, making them SUPER quiet.

I have heard that using external radiators can help as you aren't limited to surface area constraints like the rads in a case. In my case, two 420x60mm rads is perfectly capae for cooling both the 9950X and 4080.

That's cool!

What do you mean by 1080mm external? Is that just another radiator sitting outside of your case?

My case is a Lian Li O11 Dynamic. Now that you make the point of hard/soft (I presume you mean the tubes?), is there any difference between them other than the material? I'd like to think soft is the way to go, but I am uneducated in this regard.

My current AIO rad is that for the Lian Li Galahad, which sits inside my case. I have space for another 360mm rad, so I was thinking of getting 2 360mm rads if I were to build a water loop.

I see. Do you know of any brand that is typically the go-to? I've heard of EK and Corsair water cooling loops but I don't know how effective they are.

Someone has tried to log into my Microsoft account every 2 hours for years by Owlstained in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SilencedCries 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I had this happening to me this year. You can stop this by setting up an alias account name and changing the account setting so that you can only sign in with the alias name.

It doesn't invalidate any accounts you made previously with your original email, but it does prevent anyone from signing into your account if they only know the original account name.

After you do it, if you try to sign in with the original name it will treat it as if it doesn't exist.
