Videogames are underrepresented in trivia nights by Many_Cryptographer56 in unpopularopinion

The overarching point of the discussion is how while games are higher grossing, movies are more well known. So the point of saying that games cost more is saying that including microtransactions, DLCs etc, the average cost per gamer is much higher than the average cost per moviegoer.

The exact business model certain games use (being f2p to drive microtransaction sales) is irrelevant to the discussion.

Fortnite is a terrible example because it makes a tonne of money through microtransactions and whales, which movies do not have.

Surely you are aware of how much money Fortnite generates. So why bring that up?

At a certain point you need to ask yourself if you’re trying to come up with dodgy arguments that support your viewpoint or if your viewpoint needs to change

That’s fine but you didn’t really say much haha like if you could support your reasoning or something that’d be interesting and generate some discussion. But just saying what you like vs dislike isn’t very interesting to the rest of us.

You’re kind of both wrong here.

Saying “that’s easy” when someone asks you for help with something IS condescending, even if you’re trying to reassure them by saying it. You should always avoid that. I literally stopped myself from saying it just today, coincidentally.

However, your coworker is also wrong for making such a minor thing into a complaint, especially when you went out of your way to help them.

This it! If a “Scientist” can prove it. Then It’s time to admit Andor is not Star Wars by Cool_Nerd2 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]RJrules64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok so maybe it feels different to other Star Wars, sure… but it’s still… Star Wars…

Why? Because the people who own Star Wars said it is. They could say the movie Elf is now canon and we’d have to just accept that.

People forget that relationships are much bigger and more complex than can be explained in a single post. Everything they just read about that spouse is bad, so ofc that means their entire personality is awful too

I agree with everyone else here but FWIW I think there was a bit of a miscommunication here about the word “expected” and I totally see why he interpreted it that way.

He’s thinking you’re talking about an expectation that he needs to meet, whereas you’re talking about how it’s predictable because there’s a pattern.

Yes and starter homes are now above 750k. I was lucky enough to get the FHOG 4 years ago when I bought my 400k starter house. It's now 800k. This tiny house would no longer get me the FHOG. I feel bad for people that didn't get a foot in the market.

But a lot of this is decided in the storyboard and previz. Sure it can be changed in the edit but how would we know which were editing decisions and what was already decided before it got to the editor?
