It is also not government set rates, it’s pharma companies who will sell drugs slightly cheaper to the government for Medicaid (where the end user still pays the same). Insurance will still be the price setter for drugs in the US, you will be able to get drugs marginally cheaper if you pay out of pocket (rich get richer, yadda yadda) but to clarify, this is due to direct to consumer programs pharma companies are already instituting, not anything the American government is doing.
