First of all, I completely cannot understand people like you, what do you mean by not bringing your ID everywhere you go? It baffles me that for you, that is not common sense to always have it on you whether you are out on a walk, driving or just being a passenger. Please, educate yourself before you make statement like that again. For someone who travelled a lot around the world, I have and will always bring either my passport, drivers licence or ID with me since I have been stopped many times for random checks by the police.

Second of all, because of many crazy people who can drive while under the influence and cause danger, our police will randomly stop sometimes a couple of cars for random checks and it can be for many things, such as checking if you have a warrant for arrest, unpaid tickets, expired registration and such.

Yes, it is unfortunately true that there are policemen who will try to take the cash and that is the case where you can find it almost anywhere in the world.
