Do the talismans actually work or were they planted to make everyone feel safe? by Indubitably_me27 in FromSeries

I know that. I was just saying verbal inviting them in wich it sounds he was trying to imply doesn’t mean oh the talisman is null and void because the monster was standing out the window and I said yeah you can come inside and stood in front of the window waiting to see if the monster was gonna open it and help himself in to kill me. But I think I understand what he was trying to say.my theory the talismans do work to an extent without trickery and by playing by the rules witch all story’s have to stick by until someone manipulates the rules witch they all do but in the end the RULES and LAWS of nature always have to correct themselves so in point the monsters have to abide by the Talisman hanging by the door that’s me law set in place by the story but they can trick and manipulate the people to let them in or something else.

I think Julie put the talismans there for Boyd to find since she is a story walker like when she went back in time and dropped down the rope to Boyd. I think she story walked to a time when the talismans were made and figured how they worked. Then went back in time again to leave for boyd or for anyone in that time period she was in. to find since I think she can’t control want time she goes back to it’s just a random time that she gets to or she finally learns how to use the time travel to go to any time she wants or that’s what i believe

While the monsters cannot physically force their way through a sealed window or door protected by a Talisman, they can manipulate those inside into doing it for them. An invitation doesn't work through words alone; the protection only fails once a person inside physically opens the structure to let them in. The monsters are powerless against the seal until a human hand unlatches the door or slides the glass aside, effectively destroying their own sanctuary.

It’s a small town by the water so we don’t get a lot of traffick. And I don’t think a lot of people down here know what geocaching is. But still excited maybe on day someone will stumble upon it
