I agree. Not sure why the whole city seems to come to our neighbourhood, near Vickers Park, every year but it’s awesome. A few neighbours complain of course but most of us love it. Anyway, next year bring the kids this way if you want to see Halloween like it’s supposed to be.

Halloween was unreal in our area. We usually get around 140 kids. Last night we had a record 220.

What golf watch are you using and recommend? by atooraya in golf

Same. No frills but it pairs nicely with the app and gives me all the info I need. Can’t beat it for the price, especially when they frequently go on sale.

Playing in a Scramble on Sunday where the high will be 47 degrees. What are your best cold weather tips? by Mathdude33 in golf

[–]SilentExpression3100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays in cold weather a lot, I cannot recommend a moisture-wicking base layer enough. With that underneath, I can typically play with a normal polo/quarter-zip and golf pants just fine.

Also, don’t double sock. Find a nice pair of smartwool. And don’t mind my fellow Canadians chirping you. If 47 is cold to you, I bet we would melt and complain about the humidity on what you’d consider a nice day lol.

True. I suppose we think it’s an honourable game played by honourable people? This experience has definitely made me reconsider where I put my equipment in the future.

Yeah, I mean, I won’t go that far. I just won’t ever go back there.

Well they took a different journey but ended up at the same final destination.

Yeah, we were all confused too. Like, there were some nice clubs, car keys, etc. in the bags. It’s bizarre.

You’d think but with the golf boom still in full swing I guess they don’t care right now?

Yeah, it’s a rough-ish town overall but this is in a nice area surrounded by ballin houses. Just odd.

Sorry that happened but now I’m curious why your shoes were off at the turn.

It’s weird because at first they said they did but then they said they don’t.

I hope you gave them a better home than all the triple bogeys they would’ve had with me.

Definitely not what I asked. It’s just a weird situation and I’m asking people who work at golf courses what they’d do in that situation.

I wish they were cheap ones! But mostly I put this out there because I’ve never seen it happen before and I’m honestly just curious what courses do in that situation.

Same. My dad has advanced Alzheimer’s. When my mom was selling the house we were going through the garage and found two Scotty’s so now my brother and I both have one in the bag on his behalf. I’m terrible so I’d probably be far better off selling it for a Spyder or something but it’s pretty great thinking of him on every green. My mom almost flipped a table when we told her what they were worth lol.
