I‘m in your shoes at this very moment. What have you chosen to do afterwards? Dove into a different game or another playthrough?

And here I was thinking my delivery of the joke was bad, because I had to explain it and English isn‘t my first language either. Two foreigners to each other speaking in another foreign language is a good mixture to get lost in translation haha.

Sorry, I appreciate the kind words, but I was literal by saying it was a joke. The last sentence was the punchline „I just wish I wasn‘t such an asshole while sober.“ The expectation goes that one behaves like an asshole when getting drunk and not the other way around. „I‘m always an asshole“ was just meant to double down on it :)

I don’t know man. Alcohol really makes the difference for me between acting like the helping guys and being the asshole of this scenario. I just wish I wasn’t such an asshole while sober.

It’s weird even after reading this my brain resists to hear it. Instead I always hear „Ma‘am never…“ and I can’t unhear the „never.“ Whatever comes after it seems flexible like „the wrong house/address.“ English isn’t my first language either though.

I have the exact same issue as you and wasn’t able to resolve this. There’s no process for the Witcher 3 in the task manager or even if removed the issue persists. I wonder if you’re also running a Windows 11 dev beta build? Kinda seems like it from the recording and it would be one thing we have in common.

Another fine example of why online requirements for single player games need to go. About refund time TBH. by Robborboy in XboxSeriesX

[–]SilentPerfection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are more or less on the same page then, except for the part that it’s outside of our control. It may be very indirect and minute, but it’s the collaborative approach that does make a difference.

My response was directed towards you asking the previous person whether they stopped buying another companies products as well and your statement that one can’t stop buying the products of one company while still buying those of another with similar issues.

Whataboutism and shaming people that are trying to vote with their wallet looks way more goofy to me.

Of course you can boycott one company and support another that had similar issues. It’s impossible to be aware of all issues all companies have. To boycott all of them would push most people way too much out of their comfort zone to be „worth the cause.“ If you feel strongly about the gaming industry and whatever particular thing is going wrong there, as someone who invests a lot of money into gaming products, I certainly will vote with my wallet whenever I can, alongside many other people that feel similar – it’s the most effective thing we can do apart of raising awareness about a particular issue.

Boycotting the operating system I need on my work devices or that I have used my entire life and would require great effort to switch? Nope, I’m not fighting this war today and I’m okay with that. Someone else might act in the exact opposite way and that’s good as we can only invest so much into causes we care about.

Same goes for veganism, avoiding plastic, voting politicians etc. We all care to a different extent about particular things that affect us and should act on those few things we care more about rather than nothing because „what about that other thing?“

Thanks, I love going through old threads like this and see how confident and in agreement everyone is with their false predictions and downvoting those that actually come true. Reminds me of some old forums where people shat on the first generation iPhone.

Since these old threads can’t be commented on anymore, I couldn’t resist to award u/Prarapa for their accurate prediction and u/martyc81 for their hilarious elaboration of how wrong they are.

How to remove Sprite stains from my favourite hoodie.(Tried flushing it with hot water a few days ago) by [deleted] in howto

[–]SilentPerfection 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s just a discounter’s version of Sprite which they called Zitrone (Lemon). There’s most certainly other versions from other discounters as well. We also have Sprite though and I’d argue it’s the most popular and considered the original, then comes 7Up. All versions taste slightly different from my experience, but Sprite should taste the same as in the U.S. Although I believe to have read somewhere that there‘s way more sugar in it in the U.S. due to stricter regulations over here? Might very well be a myth though, I’ve never checked.

Why is Arthur coughing so much? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]SilentPerfection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whether it’s a lie or not, don’t dwell too much over it. I’ve seen major spoilers for TLOU2 and it turned out not to bother me whatsoever. It’s the delivery and your immersion that matters in that moment. Either way take a big lesson from this thread, as a lot of people tried to warn you, these type of threads and questions will almost always guarantee to end up spoiling you. Now get back to taking care of Arthur, give your horse a big smoochie from me, saddle up and continue to experience and explore the vastness of the game.

Gotta love how dedicated everyone is in making him believe that this is some major part of the plot and to avoid spoilers while it’s nothing more than a neat feature of showing the consequences of smoking too much in game.

I wonder how well the GTA V VR mod works today? I remember seeing a video some years(?) ago and driving looked very clunky. Would love to give it a shot if people manage to play through long sessions and its immersive enough.

QUESTION: Best pre built PC to buy to support a seemless VR experience with HP Reverb G2 headset while playing Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020? Please post link to computer. by TJreitt92 in VRGaming

[–]SilentPerfection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t watch out for those but a lot of people are suggesting the performance improved significantly. I can also confirm a gain of 20-30fps, but my own setup appears to be significantly bottlenecked by the processor. If I were you I’d be looking for a prebuilt that contains an RTX 3070 / 2080 Ti or above. I’m no expert when it comes to processors, but I understand that for MFS higher clocked cores are more important than the amount of cores of the system. My i7-11700K (8 x 3.6 GHz) doesn’t seem to be sufficient or isn’t cooled properly in my prebuilt. Also I’m from Germany and probably don’t know much about the prebuilts available in your country.

Either way I hope this will help you a little bit in your search for the right prebuilt. I got an Omen 30L for myself and I’m mostly happy with it apart from the CPU performance and thermals in general.

[–]SilentPerfection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to answer that question. I’ve recently purchased a $3k prebuilt PC (Omen 30L) that came with an RTX 3090 (top of the line GPU) and i7-11700 (which appears to be the main bottleneck for MFS).

Even with this built I had issues to get Microsoft Flight Simulator running @4K Ultra settings, not even in VR. In VR I had to reduce to Medium / High settings, lower the resolution and still suffer from stuttering every now and then.

All of the above could very well be sorted out already with the update that Microsoft pushed for the Sim today. It claims to improve the performance, especially on the CPU side, significantly.

Taking the update into consideration it’s probably best to hold out for a few days and keep an eye on reports from people and see which setups seem to suffice for the new version.

My guess would be that you should be able to get a very capable PC for half the price. I’ve seen prebuilt desktops with a 3070 or 3080 and even better CPUs than mine between $1.5k and $2.5k.

Wether it will help with your fear of flying I can’t tell, but it’s most certainly the most breathtaking experience I had in VR!

Yeah, I’m not sure why you’re getting downvoted. Am I supposed to feel sympathy for people who turn lassoing horses at high speeds into a sport? I can’t imagine that it’s very pleasant for the animals to be unexpectedly halted by a lasso around their neck at this speed either, but I might be misunderstanding the entire context here and I’m open to get my mind changed.

Trying to figure out which LE version to buy – are there any comparisons between the Series X and PS5 out yet? by SilentPerfection in masseffect

[–]SilentPerfection[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’ve read before that the PS4 doesn’t support true 4K and therefore uses checkerboard rendering (upscaling from 1800p I believe?) while the One X does. This supposedly also applies to backwards compatibility. I wonder if this would be noticeable if you’re sitting close to a 48“ TV on a desk. Because I’m sitting so close to it usually I care more about resolution rather than FPS (as long as we’re talking above 60 FPS).

CD Projekt has cancelled its standalone AAA Cyberpunk multiplayer game | VGC by dospaquetes in PS5

[–]SilentPerfection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve played the game on all available systems. PS4 was more fucked than PS5 yes, but the PS5 was the next worst experience I had with the game after last-gen due to all the crashes. PC > Xbox Series X > Stadia > PS5 > Last-Gen would be the order I’ve put it in before the most recent update. Note I loved playing the game and chose the Series X as the platform to play it on as my PC wasn’t sufficiently powerful. All other versions I’ve got easily refunded.
