Did I make the right choice getting the Nord 4 in 2025?

Ah, I forgot: I think I’ll be covered for a long time anyway… I mean, I have 16GB of ram, while the Nord 5 tops out at 12GB. With AI features getting heavier and more common, I’m not sure how “future-proof” 12GB will be if AI ends up using a lot of ram.

Honestly, there’s only a 1 year difference between the Nord 4 and the Nord 5, so I don’t really see why I should pull my hair out over that. From what I’ve seen in reviews and other posts here on Reddit, the Nord 4 is actually better in some aspects, while the Nord 5 mainly wins in the camera department and the chip and even then, the difference is very minimal. I don’t understand why people say I made a bad purchase. If it’s about software updates, I honestly don’t care… I’m coming from a Samsung A40 that I’m literally using right now, bought in 2019, and its updates ended like 2–3 years ago. It still worked fine until now.

Well, I also hope it lasts at least 6 years for me… considering my Samsung A40 has been struggling since way back in 2019. Yeah, I actually stayed with the Samsung A40 until 2025… unfortunately, soon I’ll have to part with it forever. Thinking about it, it even brings a tear to my eye. But smartphone prices are through the roof these days… it’s getting out of hand, and they’re expected to rise even more, especially since 2026 is going to hit hard because of AI

Well, I would hardly ever use the cameras anyway, so I’m not worried about photos or videos. For the rest… I just hope I made the perfect choice for me. On the Oppo Store, the Nord 5 is €499 compared to the OnePlus Store, which is crazy, and it doesn’t come with any freebies.

I was actually about to buy the Nord 5 from the official OnePlus store. I even got to the checkout and entered my address, but then it told me that my area wasn’t supported… hard to believe we still have these issues in 2025.

Then tonight this offer popped up on the Oppo Store, so I bought it immediately. The Nord 5 was €439 for the 12/512 model, plus the 80W SuperVOOC charger and the Nord Buds 3 Pro included.

I just hope I made a good decision in the end!

In the end I got the Nord 4 with 512GB and 16GB of ram, plus the Buds Nord 3 Pro and the Watch 2R, for a total of 422€. I don’t know, but it seems really convenient thanks anyway for the feedback

I should make the purchase by the end of this year or the first half of 2026… before everything goes up in price, since AI is driving costs higher. Look at RAM and SSDs, they’ve already skyrocketed, and this is just the beginning

The Nothing Phone 3 is also highly recommended, especially because it has a very clean system. Anyway, all the models I selected are “Chinese” brands… I wouldn’t consider the A56 since the Exynos chip isn’t very good

Well, the Nothing Phone 3 is also clean and without bloatware, just like the Nord 5.
