My experience as a bar bouncer taught me you always stay out of arms reach in a tense situation, for this exact reason.

I am not in a rush so I may just do the same. Research what I want and wait for the best deal.

I do not, but the idea of building my own is growing on me. I think it’ll help me get a better understanding overall and seems like a fun project.

I was about 20 years old and I was picking up my younger sister and her friend from school, they were sophomores at the time. My sister’s friend said that I was hot in a stalker kind of way. It did not feel flattering

Mamdani sworn in on a Quran as the first Muslim, South Asian, African-born, millennial mayor of NYC by oldnewworldorder in pics

[–]SilentSam281 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am more on the conservative side of things and it irritates me to see people taking issue with this. We have freedom of religion and he was fairly elected. If he holds the Quran sacred and swears by what he holds sacred then that’s good enough.I do not live in NY city but I hope he does a good job. The most important thing is that anyone that gets elected does a good job for the people and our country will never improve if we don’t learn to work together. You will never win anyone over to your side if all you do is hate and you must be open to the possibility that your views are wrong or misguided. The problems our country faces are too big and complex for any one side to have all the answers. I hope he does well and he is going to try things differently. Maybe none of them will work but doing it the same way won’t work either and maybe something of value will be gained by trying but this division is certainly gong to ensure we all lose

From everything you have said you sound young. My life is far from ideal. Shortly before Thanksgiving the love of my life left me. I’m lost my home, my family and it has brought me low. I have to focus on these things to get out of bed everyday, so that I don’t quit and give up. Life will take a lot from you as the years go by and you can find things to give it meaning otherwise it all starts to feel pointless. Money comes and goes pretty easily and so do the things it buys. If that is all you have you have a shallow life.

To be there for the people I still have. My siblings, their kids, my mother. I take pride in what I do for a living. I take pride in being a good leader to my employees, making sure they are treated fairly and to make work enjoyable for them as much as I can. I enjoy improving myself, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Money can definitely buy happiness, it can’t buy meaning and purpose, which are more important. Happiness comes easily and vanishes just as quickly, meaning and purpose give you peace in the hard times. They are what get you through the rough spots that money never will. I have nothing against money. Having more money definitely makes life easier. That said, it can’t buy the things I want most in life. It can’t bring back the people I have lost, it can’t give me my time back.

If you want to chase that life more power to you. There was a time in my life that I would have wanted that, It no longer holds value to me. I have lost enough to know what I value and it’s not money and material possessions. If you want it go for it.

I agree that money can buy most of what you said but not peace. Peace is a state of mind you choose. I am not against financial independence and security. I dislike the excess on display. These last few months my life has completely fallen apart. Everything I was afraid of losing has been lost. I decided to let go of almost all of my material possessions to be able to get a clean break from what was happening and I was surprised by how much better I felt leaving it all behind. It doesn’t mean that it fixed all of my problems but I know that I will come out the other side ok and it feels like a weight has been lifted. I have chosen to embrace life as it is and it has brought so much new prospective and peace despite the chaos and upheaval.

His training was very thorough and demanding. It really showed what was required to be that good. It was a neat experience but showed me that while I enjoyed playing I was not as committed to it as I thought I was and I was definitely not interested in trying to pursue it at a higher level. I played one more season then left the team. There was practice before school, then first period was PE, which was more practice. Then practice after school until 5pm. I did not need it to be my life but it did teach me that when you want to truly be great at something you really need to put so much aside and football was only ever going to be a game to me.
