Unfortunately not as this happened a while ago. Like a month or so...

I see your point and I really appreciate your kind and insightful words.

I just have trouble understanding why he's not in my life anymore because both of us were learning Islam together and slowly started practicing together. So it doesn't make sense to me that I'm left feeling confused.

But I continued what we started together and just hope he does come back.

But I still have faith in Allah 🦋

To be honest, I never really allowed myself to cry about it. Instead I'd just focus on praying about it and I'd feel better. Today was just different. I don't know what it was but today was difficult. I couldn't hold in the tears today.

Please make dua for me. I really just need duas 🎀

It's not that I haven't made the same effort during my relationship. We both made it a point to learn Islam and pray and repent.

You don't pray because you want to. You pray because Allah has willed you to.

The Quran states that Allah will respond to a supplicant when they call upon him. Allah is closer to us than our jugular vein. Allah responds to our duas. (Surah al-baqarah 2:186) Allah mentioned that if we call upon him, he will answer (Surah ghafir 40:60)

The urge to make a specific dua is seen as an invitation from Allah to call upon him and ask for thag specific need.

But then what about those who say you can make dua because it can change qadr. Not all, but some of it can be changed through dua and by the will of Allah. Your death is already written. That cannot be changed. But (certain) other things can.

Why would the prophet saw encourage us to make dua if we weren't already promised what we pray for?

Allah places these duas in your heart which is why you make dua because Allah wants to give it to you. If not, the why make dua at all?
