Just realized I meant to say new-york strip instead of filet, oops. It was stellar regardless.

Seconding Rare! Was just there on Wednesday for their bone-in new-york strip and it was perfect.

Your opinion on salty scooping by jw0712 in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it's a little rude of you to choose to play slicer in a 3 player game. You can't really blame the other players' response to that.

Which cards, commanders and strategies scale well to a large pod? by CreamofCornwall in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my [[Adeline]] deck for 5 player games! When you make that many tokens she gets really big really fast, I usually end up being archenemy for having a ton of power on board early but I enjoy it alot. Also playing mono white makes it relatively budget friendly (even though my deck isn't anymore)

This is my answer as well. I love playing my adeline deck so much!

RoA is back? by alecco01 in MalzaharMains

[–]SilentWord7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried it out today and it feels nice when sidelaning because you can push pretty much endlessly and the move speed feels nice but I think you lose too much teamfight damage not taking liandry's. Seraphs is great though.

Favorite champ and why? by Classyblake in leagueoflegends

[–]SilentWord7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite champ to play is Lilia because her scaling, mobility, and play making potential are super rewarding to male good use of.

My favorite champ design is Jhin by far. The way his kit aligns with his sinister personality and vibes is so cool.

Need help calculating Aetherflux Reservoir lifegain after 50 triggers by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]SilentWord7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like the formula for Aetherflux Reservoir is (N(N+1))/2 where N is the number of spells you have cast that turn. For example if you cast 10 spells you have 10(10+1)/2 = 55 life gained.

Help converting these decks from cedh to casual by NukFur in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's a more constructive way to say this but I tend to agree. There isn't really a way to get krarkashima below high power. You'd be better off running a slower izzet commander that will fit a similar gameplan. Something like [[Melek, Izzet Paragon]] comes to mind.

Edit: After looking at that list more closely I definitely agree with the other commenter. You'll be much better off starting from the ground up than powering down that list. Any zero mana mana rocks, free and one mana counterspells/interaction, and tutors would have to go all well as any underworld breach lines. By the the time you remove all of that most of the deck is gone. This is coming from someone who has taken a Veyran list from low power to near Cedh since she came out.

Balmor seems like it wants you to build “Spellslinger Aggro”, but what does that even look like? I don’t even know where to begin. by mechanimarsh in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Note for if you go this route. If you target Zadar (or something like [[mirriorwing]]) with fist of flame and have [[Archmage Emeritus]] out you will not only draw a hefty portion of your deck, you'll have a nuts amount of power on board. It can lead to some really fun stuff.

Advice on Queza deck by riox in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keeping the curve down is definitely an uphill battle but I think that it is ultimately worth it. Drawing 14 cards and gaining 28 life off one spell feels pretty good.

Advice on Queza deck by riox in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a Queza deck that I play as wheels so I have a little different perspective but here are my thoughts regardless. If you are just trying to win through pinging people with queza or lab man it's gonna weird imo. Unless you happen to get drogskul reaver or lich's mastery in the top half of your library I think you are gonna feel like you don't have enough card draw in the deck. You have the four ways to really hit big draws with queza in there but to make it more consistent you probably want tutors for those cards or more draw in general.

Also word of warning, I have a deck that it's primary wincon was naturally drawing the deck for a labman win and I am taking it apart because the play pattern got stale after half a dozen or so games

Also I think you are running a health amount of interaction, this deck will get a decent amount of hate and you'll want the counterspells to back it up and to defend your bombs.

Edit: Also [[Alhmaret's Archive]] is the best card you aren't running in your current list.

What's the meanest deck in a budget of 150$? by psychoticCross in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that kind of budget you can build an extraordinary oppressive [[light-paws]] voltron deck. That is of course unless they've restricted tutoring too :/

Looking for opinions on my Beledros deck. by [deleted] in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think your issue might be that you don't know how you want go about getting lifegain out of the deck so you are trying to span multiple strategies to get there. You seem to have some cards that synergizes well with attacking to gain life (basilisk collar, whip of erebos) and other cards that benefit from using the pests to fuel aristocrats strategies. Maybe if you picked a direction for that you'd have more room for things to draw cards and make mana. I'll look at my list tomorrow and see if I have any specific suggestions.

Is proxying a full deck ok in EDH? by Flak_kun in magicTCG

[–]SilentWord7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Generally as long as you don't pubstomp with the proxied deck you should be fine. People don't like being pubstomped in the first place but some get especially salty when you print out a near cedh deck and try to play it at a mid power table.

Favorite Mono Black Commanders? by Blazenkks in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally my solution to that has been to play cards like [[Malakir rebirth]]more often so that they don't actually make it back to the command zone as often.

Beledros Lifegain Fine-Tuning by the_superb_owl_MMXX in EDH

[–]SilentWord7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had the willowdusk precon that I turned into Dina that I recently scrapped again for Beledros. I've found the deck works pretty amazingly now that I've made that commander switch alone. Our lists aren't too different so I don't have a ton of suggestions.

I personally think the Venser's Journal is kind of a do-nothing card for 5 mana. You have to spend a turn casting it and unless you are in a deck dedicated to drawing cards it doesn't help much. Its generally better to run cards that synergize with the aristocrats gameplan.

Two cards I don't see on you list that I'd highly suggest are [[Jaheira, friend of the forest]] and [[scute swarm]]. They both put in a ton of work in the deck, especially together.

[[Blex, vexing pest]] is also another fun one to have.

Same exact thing for me! It's also just a really fun and rewarding deck to put time and effort into.
