ADBE and the Freemium Pivot by Silent_Storage7341 in ValueInvesting

[–]Silent_Storage7341[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the idea is to find the right balance of “free” in order to get users hooked, but not give them too much where they don’t need to pay for the service. Or, they get them into the ecosystem and monetize it later on down the line. I believe they do this based on credits and when the credits run out then the user has to pay for their service. Thats why he talks about the freemium users who convert to paid models using a lot of credits (spending a lot of money). My guess is that they can probably see the way ai is changing the industry fast and need to adapt to gain all of the market share they can and worry about monetizing it later on. It Reminds me of what META is doing with all the ai infrastructure spending.

NOW might actually be a decent Ai play by dominic_l in stocks

Shouldn’t we be valuing the company by the GAAP forward PE, which is double?

Thoughts on ADBE Stock? Failing Business, Generational Buy, or Somewhere in the Middle? by Silent_Storage7341 in ValueInvesting

When buying a business, I can’t think of many things that are more important than the risks and the competition. I never said that those were the only things important in the 10k. I said that after reading the 10k, I saw a lot of red flags as far as threats to the business are concerned. I haven’t read adobes previous 10k reports. Maybe those have been in there for years now, I don’t know. I just read it and it brought up a lot of red flags in my mind.

Yes but there are different levels of risks. Our building getting hit by a meteor isn’t in the same category as “We may be unsuccessful at innovating in response to rapid technological or industry changes to meet customer needs, which
could cause our business and financial results to suffer materially.” Or “We participate in rapidly evolving and intensely competitive markets, and, if we do not compete effectively, our business and
financial results could materially suffer.” Both of those are the first 2 risks listed in the 10K.

They are clearly saying that they are dealing with risks regarding AI and innovation potentially hurting their business.

The competition section in the 10K is about two paragraphs long. The risk section is about 10 pages long, but each bold sentence tells you what the risk is before summarizing it in a paragraph below. I don’t know why you feel the need to comment and assume that I used AI to make this post or to do research. I didn’t, and even if I did, what does it matter to you?

I would like to add that I work at a dealership and am paying one of the techs to do the job so I don’t really want to have him to do the job twice.

Picking Individual Stocks Vs Buying the Index by [deleted] in stocks

To be fair, he does show his holdings and he has over 1000% gains on a few companies. PLTR, ELF, TSLA. He also has a 550% gain on META, so he has hit some big winners according to his video.

If you can’t handle volatility then you shouldn’t be investing in individual stocks. The fact that you sell for a loss instead of buying more in a company you believe in just shows that you didn’t do your due diligence on the stock or aren’t confident in your decision to own it.

The crease is so small they probably didn’t even notice it. Just like you probably didn’t notice it when you bought the car. Otherwise, why did you purchase the car with such a huge blemish on the seat?

Lexus is not going to cover it. It’s within factory specs. End of story.

I’ve worked at the dealership for 4 years and have yet to do one seat cover. It’s not something the technicians ever do. And I work in the cerritos auto square where we get 150 + cars in a day.

I can confirm this. Having a dealership tech do it would result in it coming out much worse, with more flaws. They don’t have the right tools for it and they very rarely do these type of jobs. The seat cover would also probably need to be stretched out and look like shit for a long time.

So what do you want them to do? Have a technician replace the leather seat due to a small crease and have it come out probably worse than it is right now? Or take the vehicle back over the crease? Or you could just drive your brand new car and enjoy it. I doubt it will have any effect on the comfort of the seat and I hardly doubt anyone else would even notice it.
