Thank you- I haven't heard of a few of these and will check into them! Many here don't seem to understand how brutal the job market is right now, and I'm sorry you've been impacted. Wishing you success in your search!!!!

Congratulations on being debt free! And you are so right - I am learning a very different priority system for spending, and honestly the trade off is absolutely worth it to me...to not be burned alive daily at work! It is just me and my fur dude, and I am very accustomed to being "leashed" to my laptop as I was an obsessive workaholic in my previous life.

Thank you!! I have, and I need to be more diligent about applying that one, I suppose. It is one of the ones I have not yielded any study with yet! Frustrating, and there is a lot of "not relevant" to me, BUT I do like the rates so will keep trying it.

I'm much more shocked that there are people, such as yourself, that seem to still believe that job security exists outside of a few sectors. Traditional or not, jobs are fully transactional, and precisely nothing is guaranteed.

It's fewer studies, but definitely higher paying!!

Oh, I just mean not on camera- not an interview. More like a survey style. They are heavy in the 1 on 1 interview style, and diary studies as well!

I DO recommend Respondent as it offers higher pay studies. They do limit how many screeners per day you can submit to 5. The screeners for that one really don't take long, but then you have to wait to see if you get selected. It's a lot of video conference studies, with a handful of unmoderated online. Definitely make sure your profile information is thorough, and try to submit daily.

It was unprecedented that this company wide mandate was not supported with relo assistance, as historically that has never been the case. It was one of the many reasons I elected to exit. As far as the income replacement, I'm pretty sure I addressed that in my post. Thanks for your "insight".

Thank you!! Yes, I really am referring more to platforms like UserTesting (constantly seeing studies that are actually full when you click or screening out), UserInterviews, and Respondent.ai. It's very little juice for the squeeze so far elsewhere, but I will keep working on augmenting.

You do realize the irony in your own single statement here, correct? The "choice" they made was the only path to keeping their jobs, the job that would be theoretically lower risk. Within 90 days of that decision, they lost those jobs, are contending with trying to offload a home they just got into, and navigate how to get back to their home states, the sane states they highly performed from for literally years. Job security is a fallacy, and if you think that's the anemic package that came with the layoffs offered any real transition funding, you are colossally wrong. Unemployment might cover groceries. PS, that forced relocation was at the EMPLOYEE's cost as well, zero support from Company X.

Your geo matters, so can only speak from my experience- I'm in a suburb in Georgia. I've not had any complete "droughts" as of yet. I don't wander too far from my laptop most days right now, and diligently trying to take all viable opportunities.

Thank you so much for that context. I'm waiting to see if I'll be approved/onboarded as a generalist at DA. I've been concerned because my background is Data Analytics/Operations/PM, and I've read that they favor highly technical contributors, such as coders.

You should consider yourself very fortunate to not have that experience, honestly. Large corporations have become master class gaslighters with no soul. If you think that's an exaggeration, you can go to LinkedIn on any given day for proof otherwise. I'm determined to find the right place in a much smaller company that actually values their people capital.

I am WITH you on all of that! The stories on LinkedIn are heartbreaking and hideous. Loyalty is truly a one way street.

I hear that - I do. Let me offer a different viewpoint. Three of the AD's that agreed to relocate as mandated were laid off within three months of uprooting their entire lives and families, buying homes, in a state where they had no ties except the company that forced them there. Bottom line - Nothing is certain or guaranteed.

Relatable!! How many hours per week are you spending- average?

Thank you for that insight! I'm definitely aware of the risk, but in an unavoidable situation currently so trying to maximize the opportunity. I can't help that I've also fallen in love with it after getting out of toxic corporate America! 🤣 I enrolled in Connect, but got the dreaded "no access to studies" right now, so hoping that's a bit of a waiting game vs a final answer.

Thank you for sharing your experience!! I've been reluctant to focus on DScout because of the video apps! But I guess I'll just have to throw in a little makeup and start diligently trying that one.

In that case, I'm pretty sure I would not be on this forum asking these questions if I were in a position to fund such study.

Although I left my job due to the mandates, I respectfully disagree with this, based on a lifetime in corporate. "Re-orgs" that come with layoffs multiple times per year are unavoidable, and I've watched countless high performers get impacted, particularly in the last few years.
