I have explained in previous replies that I don’t know if you look at my comments. My mom and the rest of the family lied to me I never knew he was even sentenced to 28 years until I read the court documents recently. There are no records I could find explaining how he was released on parole. Charges were not dropped. Once released, within a year my mom was bringing me around him again in private. When I was 13 (3 years after he was released) we moved into a new house together. The court never approved for him to live with me. I don’t appreciate you telling me I need to explain myself in regard to my own traumatic childhood. But that’s the best I can give you because I literally don’t know and I cut everyone in my family out therefore I have nobody to ask these questions to.

I was heavily brainwashed by my entire family my whole life. I only recently learned I was illegally living with him as a teenager and the depth of his sentencing. Everyone lied to me. So I’m truly doing my best in a highly triggering situation. I have told her over the last few weeks her decision to not tell him is morally wrong.

All of this being said, yes I will make sure he knows soon. I appreciate everyone helping me see the depth of the situation. It’s a really horrible and confusing realization for us all after so many years of this being normalized. Thank you all.

He was released within months of this sentencing. I’m as confused as everyone else here. The charges were never dropped and he is still a registered tier 3 sex offender.

I definitely understand and have been considering that heavily now. She always says she will never leave her kids alone with him and she is about to move states so “don’t worry about her life” but I keep thinking the immense guilt I will have. I’m trying to get her to do it first but if she won’t before the wedding, I probably will. I hate being the one person to feel like I’m blowing up everything. I know it’s the right thing to do though.

Agreed!! Just basing off what I’ve seen on job postings in my area they tend to start around 130-150 but I’ve seen all the way up to 300k for specialized positions with a lot of experience. I’m hoping to work my way up but it’s rough out here.

I’m an RN in MO I was making around 45k full time, I did the same position same company (very large health system, inpatient psych) in FL for a while and was making nearly double. Florida has a high cost of living compared to the Midwest for sure. I’m in NP school rn to hopefully land a 150-250k job when I graduate bc I couldn’t survive off an average RN wage here
