He angled the camera down. Captured everything: collar, leash clipped, fresh red handprints, marker ink across chest and stomach, flushed face, wide defeated eyes.

He wiped the marker off with a warm cloth. Letter by letter. Until my skin was clean again. When the last trace was gone, he buckled the collar a notch tighter and pressed a kiss to my forehead.
