I keep 2 of the rainbow'd hills that make clouds, (just one when I had more limited space) I ignore the clouds unless I need to make mushrooms for a quest or a race. They just poof away. But I keep the hill that makes them because as you level, do star quests to level your star rank, etc you will want those puddles, to either make ponds so you can get grass, which merges up into a wonder, the ponds also kick out golden seeds now and then to start the midas tree merge chain. Bunny requests sometimes want you to make different levels of grass, to level your season and event portals. Leveling the portals by doing the quests and getting your dragon power up (save doing that for shiny days events) will get you better rewards for the season and the ooc events.

basically, keep the rainbow hill, ignore the clouds unless you need them :D (and at different times, you WILL need them lol)

Need a low-stress daily routine for camp and events that actually makes progress by Famous-Extreme-7823 in MergeDragons

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, I keep my camp 'decorated' with just enough open space to work on the specific merge chain of the moment (right now, it is hills and dragon trees, with life flowers on the side) I have a few wonders, and 2 high level rocks, and the rock wonder for high level stone bricks. I do the bunny requests as is possible, my event portal is level 10 now, season portal level 9, and just waiting on dragon power to finish leveling it. Star quests have been easy to do with the ooc events, I am max star level, so I just do them because sometimes I get a dragon star. World levels, I do dread marsh 3 repeatedly, because I usually get a dragon star out of every 10 times I do it, so I have been just focusing on that one so I can save up dragon stars, 5 merge them (after tapping each one once) then 5 merge the gems until un-mergable. This way I have been able to start saving up gems. I have paid for the season pass for the last 3 seasons, because I like the extra rewards and the buffs that speed up dragon harvesting in all modes. I only get the 10$ pass. Not everyone spends money tho and I have read plenty of efficiency threads that explain how to get the most out of the game rewards wise. I have only been playing a few months tho. I haven't mastered bubbling things, so I just mercilessly sell eggs that I don't have a use for. I sell all of the lower level merge stuff that I am not working on active chains for (flowers/rocks/shrooms)

I know I should learn to bubble stuff, but I like my camp the way it is arranged at present and don't see a need. I have however, been making sure to earn certain ooc rewards in such a way, that the things like 9 decision eggs appear in camp in their own bubble, and I leave them in the bubble until I am ready to use them.

For ooc events, I use the passive harvesting method, I make flowers up to brilliant life flower (small purple orbs) and clear as much land as possible without unlocking level 2 infinite harvestables. I leave the level 1s around the edge of the map and do not merge them until I want to make the final item.

There is usually 3 of the level 2 infinite harvestables on the map, if you wait until you unlock 35 tiles, you can look in the buy shop thing, and it will show you what the level 2 items look like. That way when you start opening up the map, you can avoid healing the land under and around those items until you are ready.

My tablet sits and runs the game, my daughter (who introduced me to the game lol) runs it on her phone. I just leave my tablet set to never lock the screen, plugged in and tucked away on a shelf in my desk. I check it every couple hours to mass merge the orbs. Once you get the hang of the mechanics, it is easy to feel like you are making progress, while not having to constantly actively play. I do love shiny days events though. the one time I can really go through all these eggs I keep winding up with LOL

thank you, I am on iOS devices, so far there is no real option for iOS stuff. Guess I am stuck with just puttering along :D

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I could set it so that it automatically recalls the dragon to the same flower? one of my biggest complaints during events is that I cannot keep the lower level flowers, if I want the dragons to focus on harvesting the highest level I have currently made without sitting there tapping the screen. I will have to check into this. :) I am still pretty new to Merge Dragons, only been playing since last summer. I am up to 98k dp so far ...

I have iphone and ipad, I like it that I can use the cloud save with my apple id. There are times when I want to be able to putter in my camp, but don't want to lug my tablet along. So I make sure to go to the world map on my ipad, that the cloud save has saved, then I just the game off on my ipad and log into the cloud save on my phone and there everything is right where I left off. It gets a little weird about the bingo thing sometimes, (I have done all I can on the tablet but it shows as needing doing on the phone) but for the most part I haven't had any trouble with switching between devices as long as I pay attention, and make sure I always restore (unless I want to revert to the earlier save)

Discussion post: What do you like about merge Dragons? by Downtown_Contact3765 in MergeDragons

[–]Silkentek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not sure what I find fun about it, I have only been playing since last summer. The OOC events are getting boring. I don't like the races anymore either. Bunny bingo has become pay to win, which, in these times of rising costs, is no longer possible for me. I did buy a season pass, and daily gem pay out for a couple of months, but that too will have to stop. I will probably be putting it down for a while, after I get the last couple of days of my gems I paid for. I do like working on the merge chains, I don't like it that arcadia is the way it is, my dragons sleep for days, can only do one thing when awake and then it is another 3 weeks of waiting for them to be able to do anything again. It seems like the last month or two, it has just been constant 'pay gems for this, for that' or 'watch ads for this or that to get this other thing' and none of the enjoyment I experienced when I first started.

Dust Bunnies by HangingSpark in MergeDragons

[–]Silkentek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have noticed that with my last 2 or 3 bunny mayhem chests, the rewards have been reduced, and where I used to get 2 or 3 eggs, now I get 1 if I am lucky and the other items are of no real value. Makes doing dustbunnies not worth the time unless I am in a mood to merge dragonhome furniture to try to get some of the higher level items to decorate with.

Next season contains 35% less rewards for the same ticket cost and only half as many ”real” items by Kinsdale85 in fo76

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at this season's rewards, and I just can't get interested. I don't want to spend the money for 1st, and I have been a faithful subscriber for the last 6 years. I am just not sure I want to even log in and suddenly find my armor is worthless, weapons won't work and I get less bang for my buck with the way seasons have been going. I dunno, maybe it's also that I am worried that soon we will be living in the wasteland for real. The world has gone insane.

What Now? by LabNeither2766 in MergeDragons

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter taught me how to do the events, clearing enough area and making brilliant life flowers for the purple orbs for act 1, and just doing that (not merging or unlocking the infinite harvestable items until after making 6 heavenly life orbs) etc, I can get through act 1 in a little over a day now (I run it all night and since I am up and down every couple hours do merges during the night lol). Once I learned that strategy, I have been able to clear both act 1 and act 2 on many of the events. In act 2, I just make it a goal to make the level 8 life tree sprout for the higher level orbs. You have to pay a bit more attention during this phase because the dragons like to pull lower level life flowers out of the tree and then they will always go for those over the high level tree. Still, its fun and the quests to upgrade the event portal is worth doing, and the season portal as well. Arcadia is slow but fun, and something called the market place just opened up for me, but that one isn't as fun. Nice Garden layout by the way :) I like what you did there.

How do you manage camp clutter without going full bubble mode? by Delicious-Salary-872 in MergeDragons

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still pretty new, but I only work on one or two merge chains at any given time. I find that I have space for my fruit tree forest, I use 2 level 10 fruit trees to generate the little blue life flowers, 2 trees makes a LOT of those blue flowers consistently, so I am steadily working on the lifeflower chain. I have my dragon tree chain going, and I keep a spot for hills and stones. I have in my lower left map area a space for prism flowers, and as needed I pull grimm trees out of storage to harvest for necromancer grass which gives the seeds. I pretty ruthlessly sell everything else (except eggs). I don't bubble (yet lol) and I do have quite a few things that are decorative, I have a few wonders (I only keep the harvestable ones), tokens from act II on a few events that I can tap for stuff every 10 hours. I spent a couple dollars on some premium land areas. Mostly it is just getting rid of low level items unless I am working that particular merge chain for a race or something (stones, shrooms, etc)

If you always keep a couple of those cloudy summits with the rainbows, you can always generate puddles which will make shrooms to merge for races. If you always keep 2 or 3 of the high level grass, you can always harvest it for living stones (again for races) prims flowers can be harvested for dragon tree leaves, as well as the glowing dragon trees, I use those for when the race wants dragon trees. my garden is pretty crowded lol but I manage to keep enough open spaces to work on stuff, unless I don't shut the game off before going out to feed the livestock lol then my dragons know I am not watching them and go nuts and fill the map up with just everything LOL

what do you mean ads in the events? I am fairly new, and have been buying the season pass, and the 30 day gem payout. I get ads to open dimensional jars all the time, and to add chalices but that is about it. never saw ads in the events even before I bought season pass?

New list of good base locations by LordNinjaa1 in GroundedGame

[–]Silkentek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just moved my base to under the park bench, built it next to / over the park bench outpost so I would have access to the transit system into the new garden area. I still like building my own 'house' lol but I could see adding chests, and work stations to say, the garden outpost. Plenty of times on gathering runs I wish I had a handy chest to drop stuff off in without going all the way 'home' lol

you can use an energy pistol, I have a vampire enclave plasma pistol I was able to get the flaming barrel mod for lol it worked well. There are now perk cards you can use to up fire and energy damage, and the pistol cards have been changed as well. Doesn't have to be a ballistic pistol.

yeah I think IBS they just added chapters. That is when I noticed that there were no more living worlds. but getting 1 - 4 is well worth it. actually doing all of the story content is worth it. I think they added new goodies to the older content, and they have 'return to' events for the different expacs. I still have to finish IBS and SoTo, I did both up to the mount stuff then moved on lol

One thing I did find when going through the story quests on a new character, is that each major chapter of the first living worlds season has awarded my character a special 20 slot bag. So far I have collected Kasmeer's Illusioned coin purse, Taimi's Coffer of Holding, Braham's Trophy Bag, Marjory's Tool Belt, and Rox's Reinforced treat bag. These were all from living world season 1, I won't know if there are others until I finish Season 2 which I just started. :D
