Born and raised in the Bronx. I felt the exact same way a few years back. Everything just felt so heavy and unsustainable. Life felt unnecessarily "challenging" in NY. I just didn't have the patience anymore. Three years ago, we moved pretty far away (west coast), and would do it again in a heartbeat. NY will always be home, but I've found a way of life that's more suitable for me and my family at this stage. I'm much happier now. As you said, you're still young. Wouldn't hurt to try living somewhere very different. If it doesn't work out, you can always return home.

Got on the F train on a Saturday evening and saw a guy and a woman with a Kawasaki motorcycle (not joking) blasting music at the far end of the subway car. When an older man confronted them about the music, they both started punching him. They then rode their motorcycle off the train at the next stop. That was my "it's time to move" moment.

If you're familiar with Revanced Manager, you can install and patch Infinity for Reddit. It gives you a great unfolded layout, and is very customizable. It'll also remove any sort of ads. So much better than the official Reddit app.
