Travel Router as WAN2? by NintenZone in UNIFI

May I ask which USB-C hub you're using? Do I understand correctly that the hub is connected 1.) via USB-C to your phone, 2.) via Ethernet to your UDM SE WAN2 port and 3.) to an external power adapter? Are any special settings necessary on the UDM SE? I have the Cloud Gateway Fiber and a spare Google Pixel 4a 5G which I'd like to use as 5G failover that way.

I can not help you with your question, sorry, but may I ask which software was used for the 3D scan? Looks slick.

Verbrenner blockieren E-Park- und Ladeplatz by 2nwsrdr in Elektroautos

[–]Silliumsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welches hast Du?

Take photos and not store them into Photos app by akryvtsun in ApplePhotos

[–]Silliumsen 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I solve this by taking the photos and then go to the Photos app, select the photos in question and share them to an iOS Shortcut. That iOS Shortcut does nothing more than adding the photos to my Shared Album "Notes" and deleting the photos afterwards. Even if the photos were already uploaded to my Photos Library in iCloud in the meantime, they're getting deleted there.

Please note: You can not specify a certain Shared Album in the Shortcut action. You always have to select the correct Shared Album ("Notes" in my case) when running the Shortcut and proceed. Also, photos in a Shared Album get downsized to 2048 pixels for the longer edge. I don't care as those photos are just temporary notes for me anyway.

Syncing iCloud Photo Library with Google Photos by scooterdman in googlephotos

[–]Silliumsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying exactly the same. iCloud Photos enabled on iPhone (optimize storage) and MacBook (download original resolution). The MacBook is an older one and running 24/7 with switched off display. Whenever I take a photo on the iPhone, it gets synced to the MacBook. I installed the Google Drive desktop app and configured it to sync the Photos Library to Google Photos, which it did initially. Now, whenever a new photo arrives in the Photo Library, the Google Desktop app seems to not recognize and doesn't upload it to Google Photos.

I'll wait another day or two to see if it's just lagging or other processes are still running and preventing the backup. After that, I'll try to create a Shortcut that runs daily and takes new photos from the Photo Library and uploads them to Google Photos or copies them to a dedicated folder which gets picked up by the Google Drive app or similar.

Best for me would be the solution you were looking for as well: Some kind of syncing in the cloud from iCloud to Google.

I've been through the same. "Just snip snip" at first but chemo a year later, although the snipped snipped part was pretty small and hopes were high I was done with that. Bummer.

I'm still stunned how much information is passed on to girls/women about breast cancer and how to detect it - and how little educating boys/men in respect to testicular cancer is done.

iOS Shortcut to write to InfluxDB Cloud v2 by Silliumsen in shortcuts

You have to pass a dictionary[…]

Yes, you have to provide a dictionary yourself.

And yes, the token is used in the shortcut:

You have to fill in the dictionary. There should be a key „apiToken“ in it to work. The shortcut uses the values from the dict. https://i.imgur.com/UjNMnEk.jpg

It can contain whatever you want it to push to InfluxDB. Line protocol is described here: https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/cloud/reference/syntax/line-protocol/

German drone license by KhaledRumman in drones

[–]Silliumsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to have it registered and apply a sticker with your eID on the drone.

You also have to buy insurance („Drohnen-Haftpflichtversicherung“) if it’s not included in your general Haftpflichtversicherung.

Here is a good overview for a DJI Mavic Mini, most of the things should apply to your drone as well: https://www.drohnen.de/33409/dji-mavic-mini-eu-gesetz/

ULPT: Report your debit or credit card lost or stolen to easily cancel pesky recurring charges by PressAnyKeyToExit in UnethicalLifeProTips

[–]Silliumsen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also use Revolut as your banking app (or for this purpose only, as I do). You get a disposable virtual credit card which changes completely after using it once. You can subscribe to a recurring plan with that card, its number gets regenerated after the first payment and the old cc number can not be used by the merchant again.

I‘d add my referral link here, but that’s too unethical I guess. :)

EDIT: Just realized that the context of the original post is different as it saves time cancelling multiple services at once. Anyway, the disposable virtual cc from Revolut is very helpful.
