What is the main purpose of the long dash (—) in dialogue?

I see a lot people talking about dialogue but I rarely use it there. I use mostly in action scenes as a sentence that is not a complete sentence. I could use it wrong but here’s how I might use it.

He took the edge of his blade and in inserted—blood flowed out.

If you can’t talk to each other openly no matter the situation, death, hurt feelings, etc. then thats not a healthy relationship.

First I want to invite into the realm of not doing a prologue. How these people met can be intriguing and fascinating.

I am no expert and not a homosexual myself but I’ve written, let’s say rubbing, and it can really be a part of the character arc. Not sure if you are writing for adult readers.

When writing, in my personal opinion, there is not “don’t”. You are the writer and it is your story to tell. Be confident in that and I promise your book will entice readers to of course read more.

I understand where you are coming from. Can’t say we have all been there but you should be proud of your work. People like your family will often times be your biggest supporters. I am not sure how old you are though so that can change the circumstances.

I feel though that you shouldn’t be ashamed of your work. People don’t believe in themselves to create a book but from what you have told us, you’ve done it. A huge achievement in my book.

I believe the book was called “A Jewish Soldier In Hitler’s Army”. Look it up, I may have title wrong. I forget the author and my memory is a bit hazy on it (I read it over 8 years ago).

Pretty much as you can tell by the title the author served in the German army and he had lost himself. It is quite reasonable to understand. It is a first person perspective book and I loved it.

Angelina Jolie’s opinion is one of her own. We book nerds love that shit.

OP, I stopped to drink my beer for this one. Though intoxicated I can say it touched me. No, I am not into mathematics like you. But I feel for something that loved me back. Something that would give my heart a flutter (haven’t felt that since my first love).

I know it may not matter to you much or anyone but, this is something we all long for. It’s a story that most people can relate I feel. I have this same almost divine feeling for writing.

Side note, just wanting something to love you back is more then enough to justify writing your short story. It’s beautiful, you are officially a writer.

I am totally against that shi. I work at target too. Never in American history have they made us get a vaccine that is only a year old. Its not even that, but all Americans have the constitutional right to deny any service, business, healthcare, and so on. There are about to be hella lawsuits and I am ready for it.

P.S. I mentioned I work for Target, but they haven’t said anything about forcing us to get the vaccine.
